Role/Tactics

Keksis, the Betrayed is a unique Taken because it does not have a glow on its face that most Taken do.

Keksis largely will fight by dropping Bombs throughout the arena. While they do no damage, they will instead drain your Grenade/Melee/Super Energy. He will drop them around the arena and later walk through them to trigger them. He mostly will use his Shrapnel Launcher. For whatever reason, he does not seem to possess a slam or stomp attack. This is a very good thing considering his Blight Bombs and their ability to drain a Guardian of their Light.

Keksis is fairly fast on his feet. So, when he is within a short distance, he can and will most in toward Guardians.

Because Keksis will be moving in close for much of the fight, this makes it simple to keep track of him. He will also be more susceptible to Machine Gun fire because of his proximity to the team. Let him get within range and then open fire in controlled burst to maximize accuracy.

To keep alive, you can head to the far side from the entrance to the raised platform there. This will let you have a somewhat safe place to thin out the adds. It is also a good place for you to simply recover.

Drained of Light

Keksis the Betrayed

This is the big concern against Keksis. When this notification displays over your Super Bar, you know the Blight Bomb is in place. Any Guardian can go in and stand in the Blight Bomb radius. After a few seconds it will dissipate and do nothing.

If the bomb goes off, your Super/Melee/Grenade will be suppressed (and drained in the case of your super). Your jump will also be reduced back a basic jump. No gliding, lift, blink or anything else while you are suppressed.

Getting Points

Once Keksis is low on health, keep on eye on him and occasionally attack him to keep him away from the Blight Bombs or to dissipate them before he can detonate them.

The Fireteam should then focus on getting through the waves of Reinforcements that are coming into the arena. As much as possible, focus on the Score Modifier that is in place for that Week.
