The Public Event is a Public Objective in Destiny 2.
Public Events are a random timed event that happens in the patrol mode (Public) map that any number of guardians can participate in.
Summary
Public Events are timed events which occur on the Planetary Map while exploring any of the Planets in Patrol Mode. Most of these have a 5 minute timer
These events are now displayed on the planetary map along with numerous patrol objectives. There will be a line to indicate the time left in the event to be completed.
