The Objective, “Defeat Golgoroth” in Destiny 2.

Defeat Golgoroth is an Objective in the Raid King's Fall in Destiny 2.

Summary[edit]

.

Walkthrough[edit]

Starting the Encounter[edit]

  • Starting the encounter, can do by shooting the large orb in the middle of the ceiling in the room.
  • Golgoroth will rise out of the floor and the add waves begin.
  • Getting to the end of the wave, you will encounter a Blistered Wizard/Servile Wizard later on.

The Tablet of Ruin[edit]

  • The Tablet of Ruin is found in the back of the chamber.
  • This is charged by unused droplets of Corrupted Light from fighting Golgoroth.
  • If a Droplet is spawned and remains unused, it will charge the Tablet.

Getting to the Damage Phase[edit]

  • A few Guardians need to head to the sides where groups of Thrall then a Revenant Wizard.
  • Killing the Wizard will bring out Acolytes.
  • Thin out the adds, but when everyone is ready, and the Wizards are dead, it's time to focus on the Orb above the pit that Golgoroth is in.
  • Once Golgoroth has appeared, and the Wizards have been killed, gathered Light will appear on the ceiling of the cellar.
  • Either those in the pit, or those about to go down into it need to shoot the Orb.

Golgoroth's Gaze[edit]

    • This requires 2 Guardians to get the most possible time.
  • Capturing Golgoroth's Gaze is the corner stone of the damage phase.
  • Any Guardian can get Golgoroth's Gaze by inflicting enough damage to the Ogre by hitting its back.
  • A singluar Linear Fusion Rifle has a good chance to get the Ogre's Gaze (200k+?)
  • You will get the message Golgoroth's Gaze shifts to [Player Name] when done successfully.
  • Once the Gaze has been captured, the one with the Gaze needs to align with the Fireteam in the pit below.
  • The other Guardian handling the Gaze needs to run to the back of the Cellar, clearing adds in their way, and be ready to take the Gaze when the Timer is low 2-5 seconds left.
  • If you are hit by any of the Bolts, you will gain stacks of Ogre's Venom, which impedes your health regen on top of doing damage.
  • The best result is to continue this until you see the message, Golgoroth grows tired
  • This marks the end of the Damage phase.

Damaging Golgororth[edit]

  • Damaging Golgoroth takes coordination.
  • Most of the fireteam needs to be in the pit with Golgoroth.
  • Just before starting damage phase, they will want to be in a safe section of the pit, damaging the glob of Reclaimed Light.
  • When the glob of Light hits the ground, those standing in it will gain the buff: Pool of Reclaimed Light.
  • Be warned though, a Fireteam member in the Unstable Light will get a timed debuff on it.
  • This makes them like a Cursed Thrall, so when the timer runs down, they will explode (but survive).
  • Once 1 of the Guardians outside the pit has captured the gaze, wait for it to shift with them and then start shooting Golgoroth in the belly.
  • There are at least 2 Guardians that need to be outside the pit.
  • These 2 outside the pit need to shoot Golgoroth in the back to capture his gaze.
  • Once his gaze is captured, the other Guardian outside the pit needs to split their focus between damaging the exposed section of Golgoroth's back and one of the balls of Corrupted Light.
  • The one who Golgorther's Gaze will need to blast the incoming Axiom Bolts.
  • These two groups will need to move so Golgoroth's Gaze Holder is facing to the appropriate side/direction that the team in the pit is.
