Destiny 2: Escalation Protocol

Escalation Protocol in Destiny 2 Warmind DLC.

The Escalation Protocol is a new mode added in Destiny 2 Warmind DLC.

Summary

A series of events, like the Court of Oryx, and Archon's Forge. By meeting particular criteria the level of the event will increase.

Clearing each objective adds about 60 seconds back onto the timer. The more engaged players, the easier it can be to complete.

Levels

Level 1

Clear the Hive

• Time Limit: 3 minutes

• 
• 

Locate and disable the Shadowrifts

• Look for the ritual circle that has a number of crystals above it.
• Having purged the circle, a number of Acolytes will appear.
• After defeating them, fire on the crystals connected to the ritual circle.
• Breaking these will summon the Severing Knight.
• Defeating the Knight and destroying the crystals will give the party Hive Relic Blade.

Clear the Hive before time expires

• Defeat the remaining hive in the area.
• Fills the meter to completion.

• 
• 

Defeat the Hive Bosses

• A number of Major Knights, and Vanquishers.
• The big threat is the Shambling Torrent Ogre that appears during this time.

• 

Activate the next Incursion site

• Time Limit: 1 minute

• Head to the next Rasputin Pillar that has risen out of the ground.
• Go over to it and interact with the pillar to continue through the escalation protocol.

Level 2

• Time Limit: 3 minutes

Clear the Hive

• There are a number of Hive in the area: Thrall, Acolyte, and Knight or Vanquisher.

• 
• 

Locate and disable the shadowrift

• Locate the Shadowrift that has appeared in the area.
• Head to the rift and stand in the area.
• Fight through the Acolytes that appear.
• After sealing the rift, fire on the crystals that power the rift.
• Defeat the Severing Knight that appears.

Clear the Hive before time expires

• Clear out the remaining hive in the area.
• Focus on the Majors (Yellow bar) to make the most progress you can.
• Clear out the remaining Hive.

•

Exterminate all Hive Bosses

• This round will have you fight trough a number of Majors as well as the Soaring Keen
• Fight through the remaining Hive Majors that appear: Vanquisher, and Knights.

Activate the next incursion site

• Find the next activated Escalation protocol pillar in the region.
• Look for the beam lancing into the sky.

•

Level 3

• Time Limit: 150 seconds

Clear the Hive before time expires

• You are facing more difficult enemies, with Knights and Vanquishers coming out in the beginning
• There are now Dread Unhallowed Acolytes, and Dread Unhallowed Wizard in the mix as well.

•

Locate and disable both shadowrifts

• This time, 2 Shadowrifts have appeared in the area.
• They must be disabled the same way, having guardians stand in the circle.
• Defeat the Acolytes that appear and defeat the Severing Knights that appear at each location.

•

Clear the Hive before time expires.

• You must fight through the remaining Hive.
• You will see Unhallowed Knights and Unhallowed Acolytes.

•

Exterminate all Hive Bosses

• Fight through the remaining Hive in the area,
• You need to confront the boss, Choking Blade.
• Fight on through them and destroy the surviving Hive in the area.

Activate next incursion site

• Look for the orange pillar of energy shooting into the sky.
• Head over to the location and interact with the base of the pillar to continue onward.

Level 4

• Time Limit: 4 minutes

Clear the Hive before time expires

• You will now be seeing Dread Unhallowed Knights, Unhallowed Vanquishers,Cursed Thralls, and Unhallowed Wizards.
• Fight on through the remaining forces to trigger the next part.

• 
• 

Locate and disable both Shadowrifts

• There are now 2 Shadowrifts in the area.
• Once again, be sure to have groups go to both locations where you see the Crystals marking the rift.
• Seal the rift and then destroy the crystals powering it.
• As each of the rifts close, be on guard for the emerging Severing Knight.

Clear the Hive before time expires

• Return toward the pillar.
• Fight on through the remaining Hive in the area.
• Expect more of the Unhallowed Hive to be in the area.
• Be wary because an Unhallowed Ogre is added into the fray.
• Defeat them quickly.

Eliminate the Hive Boss

• There are now even more Hive to fight.
• The large named foes this round are Deafening Blast, and Renewal Wizard, a giant Knight and Wizard.

Activate next incursion site

• Once again, search the area for the beam shooting out into the sky.
• Approach and interact with the base of the pillar to begin the next round.

•

Level 5

• Time Limit: 4:10

Clear the Hive before time expires

• The difficulty of the Hive foes increases yet again, pressing toward the higher limits of the power level.
• Immediately, expect an Dread Unhallowed Ogre at least.
• Along with this foe, there will be be a number of Dread Unhallowed Acolytes, Thralls, Vanquisher, and Dread Unhallowed Knights.
• Clear out of the remaining Hive to begin the next part of this level.

Locate and disable 3 Shadowrifts

• There are now 3 Shadowrifts throughout the area.
• A group of 3 guardians should head to each of the rifts to seal it and fight off the Hive that appear.

•

Clear the Hive before time expires

• Once again, you must fight through a large wave of Hive.
• Dread Unhallowed Vanquishers and Dread Unhallowed Knight are in the fray.
• Be very careful because there will be a Dread Unhallowed Ogre fighting the large group.

Exterminate all Hive Bosses

• Now you will be encountering a large number of Dread Hive.
• You will encounter a pair of Shambling Torrents and a Renewal Wizard appear.

Level 6

Withstand the Onslaught of Hive, complete the Heroic event, and defeat every boss.

• You will now, possibly, need to complete a public event and trigger the heroic version.
• This event is altered to have the bosses that you have fought throughout the escalation protocol.

Activate next incursion site

• Once again, you will need to find the pillar of light going into the sky.
• Head to the pillar and interact with the pillar to trigger it.

Level 7

• Time Limit: 4:20

Exterminate all Hive bosses

• You will be facing a large Hive Ogre as well as a number of Shrieker.
• The large Ogre is Nur Abath, Crest of Xol
• Another Ogre to face is Ultorg, Breath of Xol.
• Throughout the fight, expect more Unhallowed Shriekers to appear.
• Use the Escalation Protocol Pillar for cover to protect yourself.
• Defeat the bosses to complete the protocol.
