Burro - Runs the kitchen. Means he runs me, you, and everyone else in camp.

Sebille - ‘Tell the elf she should pay up; rules are rules.* Burro - That's right, innit, lcgsv? Rules arc rules; break the order, and you lose your place in it. Now come on, elf. If you make me say it again, there's gonna be trouble...

Sebille - [ROGUE] *Tum to the elf and frown... isn't she Elodi 'Impaler' Oldwood, the tamed assassin of the north?*

Elodi Why... yes... Of course I am. All my life. *Hiss*.

Burro - *Souints.* Elodi... Oldwood? Impaler...

Elodi - Ahh, get out of here, will you? Y'aint worth my time. Nfilhrr of you.

Sebille - *Tell the elf she should do what she's told. If not, you re happy to make her. *

Burro - If you won't pay me in coin. I'll take whaty'owe from yer skin. Elf bark's goin' for gonza these days...

V[edit]

Sebille - [SEBILLE] *Tell the brute he's fallen low if he's shaking people down for pennies.*

Narrator - ‘Burro looks you up and down, sizing up your threat. *

Burro - You look like you're worth a little more than that. Get lost, elf. Mama here is paying for both of you.

Narrator - *He sidles up to you, leering.*

Narrator - *The elf smiles and bows to you in thanks.*

VII[edit]

Sebille - *Take a step back and say this isn't your quarrel.*

Burro -I ain't gonna say it again. Pay what you owe.

Elodi - No. Never.

Burro - You elves always wanna do it the hard way, don't

VIII[edit]

Elodi - Thank you for your help with thug. No doubt he turns on you next. These humans hate us.

The Red Prince - *Say you were happy to help.*

Narrator - *She bows.*

The Red Prince • *Ask if she knows of any way out of the fort.*

Elodi -I hear of no escapes. The only way out is through. Through the magisters, through their cure. Thugs I can stand. But I fear the magisters.

The Red Prince - *Say you'd like to know who’s in charge around here.*

Elodi - In this cave, we trust Saheila. She is young, but she sees. She knows more than we know. In the camp, the brute Griff rules. He who gives the bread has the power.

The Red Prince - *Ask how she came to Fort Joy.*

Elodi - It gives me great pain. I am with my family, we are making beautiful magic. We are healing a tree cut down with great violence. The magisters come. My family runs, but I fell. My son looks back. I shout to him to run. I am taken.

The Red Prince • *Take your leave.*

Elodi - Wait - before you go. I am not here without your help. I do not forget this. For you - a prize. I save it for a special occasion, but... I can think of no finer occasion than this. Thank you.

IX[edit]

Elodi - Thank you for your help with that thug. Our kind are few here. We must help each other.

Sebille - [ELF] "Tell her you’re ashamed of her. She needs to toughen up.*

Elodi • To embrace vulnerability in a place like this is tough. You may keep your shame for yourself. An open heart know's the difference between right and wrong. It is not wrong to walk in the camp. It is wrong to assault one walking. You walk among the humans too long if you think differently.

X[edit]

Sebille - [SEBILLE] *TeIl her it was nothing; you cannot stand by while a man takes your sister's freedom.* "Ask if she knows of any way out of the fort. *

Elodi • I hear of no escapes. The only way out is through. Through the magisters, through their cure. Thugs I can stand. But I fear the magisters.

XI[edit]

Elodi - This is not your business, long pig.

Burro - Don't let this moss muncher talk to you like that.

'Specially a cheapskate like this'n. Griff already knows she don't like to pay her fair share. Pay up, elf. No one shorts Griff, 'specially not one of you.

Ifan Ben-Mezd - [IFAN] Look away. You know how this little scene plays out. It’s not pretty.*

Burro -I ain't gonna say it again. Pay what you owe.

Elodi - No. Never.

Burro - You elves always wanna do it the hard way, don’t

XII[edit]

Ifan Ben-Mezd - [IFAN] *Roll up your sleeves. Nothing like a fistfight to clear rhe head.*

Burro - Just stand aside, why don’tcha, mate. This is no business of yours.

Ifan Ben-Mezd - *Tell him the Lone Wolves decide their own business/

Narrator - The man visibly freezes in fear, stammering a pitiful apology and backing away from you and the elf.* Elodi - Ahh, get out of here, will you? Both ofy’aint worth my time...

Narrator - *The elf smiles and bows to you in thanks.* Burro - *Roll your sleeves back down. Pity... a few bruises would’ve brought a smile to your face.*

XIII[edit]

The Red Prince - *Say that if he chooses to harm her, you won't stand by and watch. *

Burro - We got a system. And it looks like you don't want to fit in.

Strategy Guide/Tips[edit]

  • Elodi will ask for your help when you talk to her, unless you are human (for example Ifan ben-Mezd) in which case she will tell you it's none of your business. You can still help her though.
  • Depending on your dialog choices, Elodi will either leave peacefully, run away, or fight Burro and Kana.
  • If Elodi ends up fighting Burro and Kana, she usually will win, unless you intervene and side with Burro and Kana in which case Elodi won't stand a chance against that many enemies.
  • When Elodi leaves Fort Joy Ghetto, she will run to the Elf Caverns to the south. She may tell you that you are not safe and to follow her to the cave. Either way, she runs fast and does not wait for you so it's easy to lose her. See map below for the locations of the caves so that you can get there on your own.

Quotes[edit]

  • "You push you. I want only bread."
  • "I find only bread. I want no trouble"
  • "Your Griff teaches you to bully others. Pathethic."
  • Spits. "Have your cud."
  • "Disgusting like theft? Disgusting like threats?"
  • "I will not"
  • "Follow me. Before more of them trouble us. There is a safe place."
