"Landing Location" refers to the area you initially land at in Fortnite Battle Royale.
When in the Pre-game Island you can examine the Bus Route and decide where to land. Choosing a good landing location can have huge impact on how well you will do in the game.
If you are in a squad, you should all agree on where to land. You can "vote" by placing markers on the map.
Towns provide a lot of loot but you will also face a lot of competition. You could try landing in a town on the edge of the map and far from the bus route, which has a good chance of you being alone there and getting a lot of loot to yourself, but prepare to do a lot of running afterwards to get back into the Storm Eye.
The closer the town is to the Bus Route, the more people you can expect to land there.
You can also choose to land in areas such as mountains and other non-town areas that have no buildings. Some of these areas still can have a decent amount of chests and loot for a lot less risk.
