After being put into critical condition in battle with
a new enemy, Tony Stark injected his nervous system
with the virus known as Extremis in order to save his
life. With Extremis, Tony Stark can control the Iron
Man armor as if it were a part of him, going so far as
to store the armor in the hollows of his bones.
