His sister is Camilla Valerius
When you enter the shop for the first time, he and his sister are fighting about an artifact a Golden Dragon Claw, that was stolen from his shop by bandits. They ask your help in retrieving it. This starts the quest The Golden Claw which sends you to Bleak Falls Barrow in search of the stolen artifact[1].
