“The Jagged Crown” is an Imperial Legion Faction Quest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Having talked with General Tullius, Legate Rikke will talk about The Jagged Crown.

Follow the group to the entrance of the Korvanjund Temple. Head inside after their briefing. Just inside you will find another Dead Bandit, a Cooking Spit and 2 bed rolls. There is a table with an unlocked chest underneath it. There are 3 weapon racks on the wall with a variety of Iron Weapons on them.

The entrance hall has another 5 Soldiers for you to deal with. Move forward with the Leader. When he gives a shout, attack the Soldiers. Clear them out as you climb the stairs. Start down them with your leader and the rest of the force. A few will stay in this area to hold it against reinforcements.

The Jagged Crown

Go down the stairs with the Leader. This leads to a room with 3 more Soldiers. Defeat them and continue to the North. The Leader will call for a stop in front of the doorway leading farther in. He suspects an ambush and will ask you to search around the area for another way. Use this time to search the sunken area you are in for burial urns. They have gold and usually some jewelry as well. To move forward, head up the stairs to the East. Look to the West and you will find a Locked chest (Novice level) with a random Soul Gem and health potion by it. Pick the chest and loot everything nearby. Make your way around to the Northern side of the room. Head on through the doorway you find there. Follow the hallway to the North.

The Jagged Crown

This next room has a number of Soldiers guarding the area. If you look to the ceiling, there are a number of jugs. Hitting these jugs with an arrow will cause them to drop and ignite the oil on the ground. This is a great way to thin out the number of soldiers in the area. It helps a lot to head to the Northern end of this area before attempting to Snipe or sneak attack any of them. This gives you easy access to all of them. There are a total of 4 Soldiers to be found here.

The Jagged Crown

When you finish the fight, take some time to search the Eastern section of the lower area of this room. You will find a short set of stairs leading to a chest. To the left of the chest is a skeleton with the skill book Jornibret's Last Dance. Read it, loot the chest and then start after that group.

Follow the force into the next room. You will find a dead Draugr along with the bodies of 2 Soldiers. The party will hold up here for a minute while the Leader tells the group something about Draugrs. Just follow them to the entrance of Korvanjund Halls.

Just follow the group as they head forward. There is initially fairly low risk in this area. Go with the group up the stiars in the back of the room. Look to the left. You will spot a second corridor heading off in that direction. You will see a dead Imperial and swinging blades above him. Use Whirlwind Sprint Shout or a well timed run to reach this unlocked chest.

Go down to the end of the hallway next. You will see your group gather there. There are 2 dead bodies. With them is the Ebony Claw. Time to get to work on the Korvanjund Halls Puzzle Door

The Jagged Crown

To open it you need to possess the nearby Ebony Claw. On the palm of it you can see the symbols needed to open the door and their order. To get this door open you will to arrange the Glyphs (Top to Bottom) as: Fox Door Glyph, Moth Door Glyph and Dragon Door Glyph. After that, interact with the claw trigger in the middle of the door. This will open the door. This leads to another large room.

There are 6 upright sarcophogi spread throughout this room. All of them have trapped Draugr inside. There is nothing to find in this room itself. Head over to the north. You will find passage that leads up to the balcony above. As you go along, look to the right. You will spot a random dagger next to some Garnets. Take the dagger to reveal a hidden passage nearby. This leads you to a hidden room. Go to the far end to find a stone door you can open. Inside is a trapped chest with a Health potion and a Flawless Amethyst next to it. Take a moment to disable the trap and then loot the chest for the money and goods inside. Now, get back to the balcony level. Head over to the East and cross to the next balcony. There is another unlocked chest there. On the Northern wall you can find the handle that you need to unlock the passage forward. The problem is that it also releases the Draugr. Heal up and get ready then use the handle. After that fight is done, follow the group to the doors. Just though here is the innermost part of Korvanjund: Korvanjund Crypt.

The Jagged Crown

Korvanjund Crypt is the final, and smallest, part of this dungeon. The Leader will tell the party to spread out and search for The Jagged Crown. Head to the far end of the room. You will find a Word Wall with a word for the Dragon Shout: Slow Time. Hurry to it and learn the word then rush to the center of the room. One of the Stormcloaks, or you, will attempt to take the crown from the skeleton on the throne. This will cause it to come to life!

The Jagged Crown

The Draugr Deathlord is a fearsome foe. It can use the spell Frost Cloak and has the shout Unrelenting Force. Keep some distance if you are having trouble to recover and let the force with you do the fighting.

When the fighting is done, look behind the throne of the Draugr Deathlord. There is a leveled Magic Potion and a locked Chest (Apprentice level). After that, head to the Southern side. On the Eastern side are some stairs. These will lead you back to Korvanjund Temple, only a little way inside. Use this passage to quickly exit and make your way back to the surface.
