Whilst I won't say where each Leviathan is located in depth, I hope that you'll be smart enough to not purposely run into them because you think it's fun. Also, it's a huge accomplishment if you scan one of these monsters.

WORK IN PROGRESS WIKI

Introduction

So, you've crash landed on an alien oceanworld. What do you do? What will happen to you? Will you survive? Luckily for you, I'm here to help. Currently editing this by myself, I intend to help those seeking help. I'm proud to announce that Orcz is receiving it's first Subnautica Wikipedia. Designed by me for you. So, let's get started.

General Game Introduction

You crashland on Planet 4546B, a planet that has been discovered but almost never explored. This time, you're here. With no clear goal, you have to make a plan. Luckily, your trusty Personal Data Assistant, or PDA, is here. It gives you some small, goals that'll suffice for a few days in the game. But what when those days end? Well, you need to survive.

Goals to Set Yourself

Firstly, craft a Scanner. It's simple and it's the most essential item in the game. Without it, you aren't going anywhere. When you have the scanner, you need to receive a distress signal from Ozzy's lifepod (lifepod 17) as it has the Seamoth Bay. This is ESSENTIAL as it provides you with a submarine and a Mobile Vehicle Bay to craft it with. Without the Seamoth, you're going to have difficulty reaching further locations, such as the Aurora.

Secondly, you must be willing to murder the local wildlife to survive. Bladderfish are ESSENTIAL to survival. They're the only fish that can be made into water alone - no extra fishy bits included. They make Filtered Water which gives +20 to Water and +0 to Food. Bleach, on the other hand, is much better. It proviews +40 to Water and +0 to Food, but it requires Coral Samples. These are obtained by using a knife to collet samples from the coral tubes everywhere in the Safe Shallows. Most fish that you can grab can supply you with food. Whilst some are better than others, don't be afraid to gobble down that innocent fish.

Thirdly, and most importantly, you need to obtain the Seaglide. You need the Scanner for this, so make sure you have it first. To get the Seaglide, you need to find its fragments. They are found in two states - in a box or just lying there. The Seaglide is the best transportation and is the easiest to make.

Key Locations

This section contains endgame spoilers.

As you adventure this world, you'll quickly realise that you aren't the only one to land here. The Degasi, a small trading ship, crashed on this planet. They left five key bases. Three are on a floating island South of the ship. One is in the Jellyshroom Caves, which are found in small caves leading under the Grassy Plateau. The final one is in the Deep Grand Reef, a place inhabited by horrific creatures.

Loot Inside Bases from Degasi

Floating Island Bases - Multipurpose Room, Marblemelons, Chinese Potatoes, Lantern Fruit, Purple Artifact, Outdoor Growbed, Observatory, Bulkhead, Indoor Growbed.

Jellyshroom Caves Bases - Multipurpose Room, Water Filtration Machine, Observatory, Moon Pool, Power Cell Charger, Modification Station.

Deep Grand Reef Base - Multipurpose Room, Observatory, Orange Artifact.

Now, there are many Precursor bases around the world.

Precursor Base Loot

Q.E.P. / Quarantine Enforcement Platform - Purple Artifact, Ion Crystals.

Disease Research Facility - Ion Crystals.

Thermal Plant - Ion Crystal Deposit (Limited Ion Crystals), Blue Artifact.

Primary Containment Facility - Ion Crystal Deposit (Unlimited Ion Crystals).

Submarines

As you take your time trying to locate the way off this planet, you'll realise it's only deeper. Submarines are essential to go deeper.

Seaglide - A hand-held propulsion system used for basic transportation.

Seamoth - A one person submersible which is quick to maneuver.

Exosuit - A one person submersible designed for deep-sea mining.

Cyclops - A large submersible designed to hold one Exosuit or one Seamoth at a time.

Leviathans

Clearly, this class of alien species isn't to be messed with. There are four Leviathans; Reaper, Sea Dragon, Sea Emperor, Ghost.

Reaper Leviathan

The worst of them all, and the most common to find early on, the Reaper Leviathan is everywhere. There are approximately 14 of these horrific beasts around the game world. One bite can take away 80% of your health. They can also grab your Seamoth and Exosuit and damage it for 50% each time it is grabbed. Whilst some people say they can be tamed, don't believe it.

Sea Dragon Leviathan

As it name says, this is a dragon in the sea. It breathes fire and is located in the (In)Active Lava Zones. There are currently two known Sea Dragon Leviathans. They can swallow you whole and do an average of 70% damage. They can not grab your Seamoth and Exosuit.

Sea Emperor Leviathan

The Queen of the Ocean, this magnificent beast is the last of its kind. It is passive and won't hurt you at all. It's located in the the Primary Containment Facility.

Ghost Leviathan

The terror of the seas, this monster is located in two places. The Lost River and the Void. The Lost River Ghost Leviathan is small, like a Sea Dragon. But the ones in the Void are bigger than the Sea Emperor Leviathan. They do an average of 85% damage. They can not grab your Seamoth and Exosuit.

Whilst I won't say where each Leviathan is located in depth, I hope that you'll be smart enough to not purposely run into them because you think it's fun. Also, it's a huge accomplishment if you scan one of these monsters.
