A Dark Zone is a type of zone in Tom Clancy's The Division.
Dark Zones are the areas that have been hit the hardest with the virus. There is very little communications and services there. They are very interesting locations to explore as the US Army left a lot of material and equipment inside when they left the Dark Zones because of the uncontrollable contamination.
Dark Zones are the only PvP (Player versus Player) areas.
Credits are specific to Dark Zones.
Levels (named Dark Zone Ranks) are specific to Dark Zones.
Loots can be shared into a Dark Zone.
Every borough has a designated Dark Zone, for example the Brooklyn Dark Zone.
Each Dark Zone is split in six sectors, DZ 01 to DZ 06, with a different difficulty level in each, increasing from DZ 01 to DZ 06.
