SimCity Launcher is stuck on "Check For Updates"
Solution (Confirmed Working)[edit]
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\SimCity\SimCityRecovery OR C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityRecovery
Run SimCityRecovery.exe
Wait patiently as it starts updating data
when it reaches 100% you should be able to play again
NOTE: Another solution that was suggested was to delete all files from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData". However it has been reported that doing so can cause problems (source: answers.ea.com/t5/Updater/Do-NOT-follow-the-Sticky-about-quot-Checking-for-Updates-Issue/m-p/646038#U646038).
