J'zargo's Experiment is a Side Quest in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Walkthrough[edit]
Talk with J'zargo having completed Under Saarthal. This Khajiit has a new spell that he wants you to test out. He suspects that it will be most effective against the Undead.
Testing Locations:
- The Midden
- Bleak Falls Barrow Sanctum
- Any location you can encounter at least 3 Undead in separate or controllable instances
The more you can control how you encounter the Undead, the easier the testing of the spell will be. These scrolls are not considered quest items so they can be stored. If stored, they will eventually disappear.
This spell does not work as J'zargo intends for it to. Before you begin, be sure to tell any followers to wait in the previous room to avoid accidentally turning them hostile with a spell blast or killing them with the spell.
To complete this quest you need to destroy 3 undead using the scrolls you are given: J'zargo's Flame Cloak Scrolls. Each will last 30 seconds and has a very limited melee range. Either activate the scroll and walk into something or wait for it to come to use and trigger the spell. The Cloak spell will work a little too well on the undead and cause them to explode. When you have killed 3 Undead with the scrolls, you will be prompted to return to J'zargo.
Head back to the College of Winterhold. Find and talk with J'zargo. he will tell you that the spell did more than it was suppose to. He did not expect the explosions. He will name you a friend and be grateful for your efforts.
