"Follow the trail using your Witcher Senses" is a quest objective in the side quest "Twisted Firestarter" in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Willis, the local armorsmith, has hired you to find out who burned down his blacksmith forge
While looking behind his house, you discovered a set of footprints
Follow the trail of those footprints and it will lead you to the suspect

The trail will lead you from the back of Willis's House towards Woesong Bridge and to the river bank past it.
Examine the footprints near the river
Then continue using your witcher senses and find the scene of a battle with the drowners nearby.
From there, the trail leads back to the village to Napp's House across from the Tavern.
Examine all clues along the way to form a picture of what happened to the forge.
