Summary

Complete the introduction mission: “A Guardian Rises.” This has the Guardian resurrect outside the Wall of the Cosmodrome. Following the directions of their new companion, Ghost, they must navigate the Wall, fight the Fallen, and meet with Shaw Han.

Walkthrough

Enter the Cosmodrome

“Make your way into the Wall”

The Guardian has been resurrected by their Ghost. You have arrived in the Gateway. Head forward toward the opening in the wall in front of you. There’s an opening on the left-hand side. Go along the walkway there and into the door there. Take the stairs up. Go along the walkway here.

Keep moving

“Move through the decayed structure”

Continue on up the stairs and over to the left. This will bring you into The Breach. At the top of the stairs, you will emerge into a dark section of the wall. Go over to the right. Watch Ghost sweep through the dark area to see some Fallen exploring the area.

Arm Yourself

Head to the right-hand side of the walkway. There is a grate that will rise. Just beyond it, you will find a chest. Open it to get your first weapon. This will get you a Khostov 7G-02 to arm yourself with. Go into your inventory and equip the gun.

Survive going through the Breach

Go around the corner and to the left. Head forward down the corridor. As you head forward through this corridor, you’ll encounter your first enemies, a Wretch and Dreg.

Keep going around the corner to encounter a dreg that drops down from the ceiling. The idea here is to use your melee.

Go through the opening and down the stairs. This will bring you onto a landing with a number of Dregs. You are prompted to use your Grenade to defeat the Dregs. Turn to the left to find a Vandal at that end. Head toward the walkway.

As you start down this walkway, you will have a prompt to Aim Down Sights. This lets you carefully aim at the Dreg at the far end. Get to the far end and look to the right at the top of the stairs. You will find a chest to open for a new weapon. Take the stairs down and over to the left.

Getting into the next hallway, you will have a number of Fallen emerge from all over. You are prompted to switch to your Energy Weapon. Go forward through the hallway and over to the right.

This will bring you into a large room with a large number of Fallen. Use the Super to clear out most of the Fallen group. Clean up whatever you have left after that.

Go through the door on the right-hand side of the room. Go through the Fan Vent to the left and then exit out to the right-hand side. This will bring you out to the Divide. There are a number of Dregs and Shanks spread around this first area.

Push back the Assault

Head forward and over the building. This will bring down a Fallen force. Fight on through the Fallen that are there. After a little bit, the big challenge appears: The Walker.

Most of the Fallen forces aren’t hard to take on. It’s the Walker that has the specifics that you need to deal with. There are 2 steps to fighting the Walker here. The first is to attack the weak point(s) that are its legs. Continue to attack the legs until the armor on its legs break. The Walker will collapse and a red glowing section will appear that is its neck. Taking out this Walker will give you most of the progress for the step.

Track the Signal

“Follow the friendly signal ...”

With the Fallen fought through, you will want to head for the back left area. This is the direction where you can see the remains of the Satellite tower and the large tower itself. Go toward the next building of the Wall. Get into the building. Head through the door. Weave through the building. As you head through, there will be a group of Shanks that you can fight through.

Get through here into the next chamber. You will meet Shaw Han here. He will explain what’s happened to him and will (eventually) accept your help. This will bring you into the next mission: Schism.
