Destiny 2: Pantheon 2.0 - Insurrection Prime Guide

Insurrection Prime is a paired set of Encounters. This is unique from any other instance of the Pantheon, since those are a set of 3 unrelated encounters

Summary

Set a plan for who will be in which role: Map Reader (First and Second), Team Beserker, Team Arena. Additionally assign Phase Radiance Buffs. Trigger the encounter.

Team Arena needs to break the Shield around the boss. They then need to head Underground and find the appropriate Fallen Machine for their Assigned Phase Radiance. Acquire their Phase Radiance Buff by meleeing the machine. Immediately rush for the nearest exit.

The Map Reader needs to location the marked Berserker and direct Team Berserker there. The Berserker needs to be defeated and that team then needs to listen to the Map Reader to deposit the Batteries in the proper terminal.

Next, the Map Reader and Team Berserker need to find and destroy. the Servitor who’s trapping the Arena Team underground. The teams’ rotate: The Second Map Reader moves into position while the second Team Berserker gets ready and the second Team Arena goes underground to get their Phase Radiance Buffs.

Finally, after 4 batteries have been deposited, Drake Tanks will appear in the arena at the battery deposit. A Guardian needs to get into the tank and drive it into rank of Insurrection Prime. The rest of the Fireteam needs to position themselves in a Flying V so a connection forms between the pairs. Once the connection appears the Guardian in the tank needs to fire on Insurrection Prime to begin damage phase.

Throughout Damage Phase, the fireteam needs to fire on the Servitor that’s emerge from the Prime’s Chest. However, they also need to watch the bulb on Prime’s Shoulder because it unleashes bursts of Energy that alter Guardians’ active Phase Radiance. The affected Guardians need to adjust their position within the Flying V to maintain the proper connection and inflict damage.

Arena

This arena has a number of elements to it and you’ll need to use them all.

Above Ground – The Arena

Underground – The Tunnels

Battery Deposits – Battery Deposits #1, #2, and #3

Readout Room – The Map Room

Roles

More than any other encounter, these encounters require roles. There is a lot to do and everyone will be doing something important. The roles will get shuffled later in the encounter, but this gives you a solid place to begin.

Plan out who is starting in what role, as well as what Phase Radiance Buffs people are going to get.

Here are the basic roles:

  • Map Reader – 1 Player
  • Team Berserker – 2 Players
  • Team Arena – 3 Players

Getting Started

This encounter will begin after the fireteam has defeated a number of Fallen and taken down their first Berserker. The Berserker needs to be defeated from within its shield with 2 Guardians attack it: 1 hitting its front weakpoint, 1 hitting its back weakpoint. Destroy the beserker as a Fireteam after that. The first Map Reader needs to then grab the battery and run back to the Map Room to deposit it.

Role: Map

When you have the role of Map, you will need to head back into the Map Room at the base of the arena. This is where the Fireteam appeared at the start. It also is where you need to deposit the battery from the first Berserker to start up the Map itself.

The Map Room

The Guardian doing Map will be calling out everything for Team Berserker.

Reading the Map

The Map of the Arena, with examples of all symbols.

On the map, there are 3 Symbols you’ll see: Circles, Squares, and Triangles. It helps to read the map with just the cardinal directions: North, South, East, and West. North is opposite the Map Room. South is where the Map Room is. West is the left-hand side of the map. East is the right-hand side of the map.

  • Circles are the locations of Guardians
  • Squares denote Battery Deposits
  • Triangles show Berserkers

The locations of the Battery Deposits never change.

The Map needs to call out to Team Berserkers the location of the Berserker that needs to be killed. The Target Berserker has a glowing orb over its Triangle. Once the Berserker is defeated, the Map Guardian has more work to do.

The Guardians who pick up the Batteries will get dots above their marker. The Map Guardian needs to call out who has what number so the Guardians know where to go. Give a quick mention of location to help (mostly when new to the encounter).

The Map Reader has a secondary concern: Servitors. Unyielding Servitors can wander into the map room and cause the map to vanish. The map will not reappear until the Servitor has been destroyed.

Role: Team Berserker

You will be listening for Map to call out the Building location that has the correct Berserker. You can summon your Sparrow or Skimmer, so use it to quickly travel from your present location to the called location with the Berserker.

Now, you need to defeat the Berserker in the proscribed way. 2 Guardians need to approach the Berserker. As they do, it will deploy a medium-sized shield around itself. This sets up the Berserker to be vulnerable. Now, the Guardians need to position themselves so 1 can attack the front of the Berserker while the other Guardian attacks the Berserkers back at the same time. Done properly, this breaks the Berserker’s Shield.

With the Berserker’s Shield down, Team Berserker can now strike hard. Defeat the Berserker. Defeating it will cause 2 Radiant Batteries. The Team should pick the batteries up, but do so one at a time. This is for the benefit of the Map Guardian.

The Map Guardian will call out the dunk locations for the batteries, since they can see it on the map. The Battery Carrying Guardian needs to head on out to the called location and dunk the battery into the Deposit. Depositing the batteries will give each Guardian the Ionized debuff. This debuff will stop the Guardian from picking up another battery until it runs out.

Depositing the Battery

Once you’ve done this, this duo needs to find and destroy the Servitor that has appeared in the Arena. This servitor is holding the Arena Trio underground. Destroying it will let the Arena come up to the Arena and let the others cycle underground.

Role: Team Arena

As soon as the encounter starts, this team has a job. Once Insurrection Prime slams down, they need to immediately swarm at it. There are 6 glowing weak points scattered across the Prime.

Circled the Knee Weakpoints to highlight what to look for.

Locations:

  1. 1 on each Knee
  2. 2 on torso (opposite sides)
  3. 2 on its Back, about the shoulder blade area

The boss will stop glowing White when all 6 Weak Points have been destroyed.

An entrance to the Underground Tunnels

Once the Shield’s been destroyed, you immediately have a new task while the Map Guardian and Team Berserker work on destroying the first one. You need to head for the opening in the middle of the arena that allow you to get into the Tunnels underneath the Arena.

Once underground, the next major job begins. There are a number of Fallen Machines scattered in the tunnels. Approaching one will reveal 1 of 3 Shapes: Circle, Triangle, or Square.

DO NOT USE THIS MACHINE!

There is a machine that will open glowing red and rapidly cycle through all the shapes. Avoid this machine! It can kill you if you interact with it.

The Guardians each need to find a Shape and get to it. 1 Guardian is needed for each shape. When the Guardians are in position, they need to melee the machine. This will grant them a specific buff.

When the Guardians strike the machine, each will get a buff corresponding to the shape the machine had:

  • Circle Grants Continuous Phase Radiance (C-Buff)
  • Triangle grants Angular Phase Radiance (A-Buff)
  • Square grants Parallel Phase Radiance (P-Buff)

This charges the Guardian in some fashion. Once you have one of the Phase Radiance Buffs, you will need to keep distance from other Guardians with the others. Getting too close to another Guardian with a Phase Radiance Buff will result in both Guardians taking damage over time at very short intervals.

The Large Servitor from the Map Room

But the Arena Team is presently trapped underground. The openings back to the main portion of the arena are covered in arcing electricity that will immediately kill anyone who runs through it. Team Berserker and/or the Map reader need to find and eliminate a large Servitor that has appeared somewhere in the arena.

Swapping Roles

Once Team Arena emerges from the Underground Tunnels, it’s time for a big change to happen. Everyone that was underground now needs to shift to either hunting Berserkers or reading the map. Determine at least who will be the Map Reader, and everyone else is hunting for the Berserker.

Catching a Break

If you are having trouble with this fight, there are destructible canisters on Insurrection Prime. 1 is on the back of its right arm, the other is at the top of its back. Destroying these canisters will disable attacks that Insurrection Prime will no longer be able to use.

Unleash the Drakes – Starting Damage Phase

When a total of 4 Batteries have been appropriately dunked, then 3 Drake Tanks will spawn in. A Drake Tank will spawn at each Battery Deposit location. Just 1 Guardian needs to get into the Tank. Have the player in the tank move into a position where they can easily shoot Insurrection Prime.

When everyone’s ready, the Guardian in the tank just needs to fire and hit Insurrection Prime, breaking its final protection and allowing the Fireteam to begin Damage Phase.

Damage Phase

The Fireteam needs to break into pairs by your buff and arrange yourselves in a Fly V, with the Angular Phase Radiance Pair at the fore. Each person with the Phase Radiance Buff gets a partner. Once you are partnered up, you turn your attention toward Insurrection Prime. You know you’re in position when a transparent connection forms between the pairs.

The critical spot on Insurrection Prime is the Servitor Core that comes spilling out of its central torso.

Over the Damage Phase, you will need to pay some attention to the device that sparking on Insurrection Prime’s Shoulder. This will eventually explode, loosing an EMP. This Pulse can change the Phase Radiance on players. This is where it’s important that everyone knows what location it is for each Buff. If your buff gets changed, you need to swap over to the appropriate location.

Final Stand

Surprisingly, Insurrection Prime does not have a Final Stand. Destroyed is destroyed for this machine.
