Explore Storereach, uncover its hidden treasures, and assemble KALLAX in Skyrim's "Under Construction" quest. Find all three parts, and recruit your new follower!
Summary
Either by getting a flier or triggering the appearance of the assistant (by dropping a lot of equipment and items) you are prompted to meet the Master and experience the “Wonderful Everyday.” Follow the flier to Storereach and uncover the unique companion: KALLAX to haul ALL your burderns.
Triggering the Quest
There are at least 2 ways to trigger this quest, once you have the DLC installed via Creation Club
- The first is to receive a flier from any of the barkeeps or people simply asking after rumors. Choose "I'm in need of some work. Do you have anything for me?"
- The second is drop a notable amount of items from your inventory.
- There is a Furniture Crate added in Riverwood. At 300 weight, just picking it up and dropping it will trigger this quest.

This location is just South of Falkreath
Travel to meet the Master
The next step of this quest is to travel to meet the Master in his workshop to the South of Falkreath. The easiest way to get to Falkreath is to go to any Stable nearby a Major City (the Whiterun Stables are the first available). Approach the cart and talk with Bjorlam. Ask him (for 50 gold) to take you to Falkreath.
Once at Falkreath, you need to get up the nearby mountainside to reach Storereach. Either you can follow the trails to climb the mountainside or jump up the mountainside using the geometry of it to climb.
Either way, you will arrive at the entrance of Storereach. Approaching the cave mouth, you will see a note attached to a post just outside it. This note warns of dangerous beasts within that has caused nearby all who have entered to never return to the surface.
Storereach
Start going forward through this first tunnel. Look down as you do though. There are a number of bear traps sitting on the ground. You need to be very mindful of these. After the first 2, look to the left to find a chair with a pair of potions: Stamina and Resist Shock.
Continue forward through the tunnel carefully. You can activate the Traps to avoid them triggering on you. Get to the next corner where you can find a pillar a Locked Chest (Apprentice) nearby. Be mindful since there are a few Skeevers.
Head to the West to the wall. Look at the wall to find an Elixir of Resist Fire. Continue to the North around the wall and start to the South. You can search the workstation at the Northern end for a Magicka Potion, Tanning Station, with leather straps and leather.
Through the doorway, you can find some potions on the tables on the left. After that, go to the right. Pass over the rugs. You can find a few Soul Gems, Gold, and a few Dwarven Metal Ingots. Just next to all that is a small chest you can loot. Passing over the rugs will trigger the reveal of a staircase downward. Taking the stairs down, you will find an elevator with lever. Activate the lever to be brought down into the Workshop.
Storereach Workshop
You are now in the Workshop itself.
You can search the Dwarven Spiders for useful items like Dwarven Oil, Cogs, and the odd Soul Gems. Search around them to collect some useful items. After that, head to the Northwest.
This will bring you into the Showroom of Storereach. You will be introduced to Sven Skyltsson. He is a projection that you will be able to see throughout this large area.
Go to the west and go to the podium with the glowing mote. This will have Sven Skyltsson explain about the STENRYGG.
Head to the Northwest to find another Glowing Podium. Interact with it to learn about TYNGDORD.
Go to the South to find the next podium and the TAVAN. After that, follow the carpet to the West then South. There are a few Skeevers that will come after you.
Follow the carpet to the West to find the Podium to trigger the display for TYNGSDOMN. There is a set of Dwarven Armor sitting on the bed here. You can also find the Mace of the Flat-Pack in this area.
Nearby you can find the next podium for the details NITHYLLA. This is a shelving unit.
Just to the West from there, you can find another display podium. This tells you about the table KALLSITS.
Get to the turn in the carpet and you will find the podium showing off GRUSKOK. Go to the North along the carpet after that.
Go around the small corner and forward through the gate opening. Go to the Northern corner to find the podium that shows off GRABAD. Head to the East, and turn to the North. There are a few Skeevers that will come after you here.
Exploring the Restroom of Storereach Workshop
If you continue to the North to enter the Restroom at this corner. Ducking in here, you can find a few things. There is a note and a lootable skeleton in the large stall in the Southeastern corner. It has a knapsack next to it. Additionally, there is are a few bottles of wine. Collect the note to learn a little about this skeleton.
Head to the North after that and into the last display area. You can see “patio” furniture down the middle. Head to the podium on the Eastern side and activate it to learn about the MOLNTAK set. And that’s the last of the direct sets here. There’s still a few things that can be found scattered around the area.
Time for the final stop before getting to work on the main part of this quest. Go over to the Eastern end of this chamber. You will find the Dining Hall. You can interact with the podium to learn a bit about things. You can talk with the Dwarven Guardian Sphere to purchase Meatballs. These cost 14 gold and restore 10 health each.

Reaching the KALLAX Instruction Manual
Head to the North and to the doors there. Go on up the slope and to the table in front of you. Sitting just off the front center is the book: “KALLAX Instruction Manual.” Read the manual to begin this next step.
- If you hadn’t trigger the quest “Under Construction” already, it will automatically trigger at this point.
Gather the Parts
Before you begin, on this table there are 3 things to collect. It helps to take the KALLAX Instruction Manual, sitting just above that is the Staff of Assembly, and on the right-hand edge of the table is the Mysterious Soul Gem. You will need the Staff and the Soul Gem to complete KALLAX. The Instruction Manual on hand just makes it easier to reference.
This is the bulk of the work, where you need to find the 3 pieces needed to assemble KALLAX. There are 2 ways to go about it. The first is to just head to the parts location and collect them. The second is to use the 3 Resonators that are spread throughout the Workshop to locate the pieces. Each time a Resonator is activated, a Dwarven Spider will appear. If you follow it, it will scuttle over to 1 of the pieces.
- There is always a chance the Spider can get caught on something. So it helps to know where the piece actually is.
Resonator A - Shelf Dividers
This is the closest resonator and piece are found just to the North. Go through the door just beyond the table in front of you. Inside the Assembly Chamber, look to the left. Sitting on a ledge above you is the Resonator. Equip the Staff of Assembly and charge it up with the attack button. Loose the blast and the Resonator will spin up.
The Assistance Spider leads the Dragonborn to the first Shelving Parts
Below the Resonator, a Dwarvern Spider will appear. Follow it to the Northern part of the Assembly Chamber. It will stop at the pair of tables just before the center of the Northern wall. Go to the break between the tables and look in the gap. Devilishly hidden between those tables is the assembly piece. These are the Shelf Dividers.
Resonator C - Wooden Dowels
Head back to the South and back into the Dining Area. Go to the Southeastern corner and look to the ceiling of that section.
On the piping in the Southeastern corner you can see the Resonator. It’s vertical on a pipe along the ceiling. Activate it with a blast from the Staff of Assembly. Follow the spider to the North. It will go just past the serving counter to the small seating area nearby.
The Assistance Spider leads the Dragonborn to the Wooden Dowels
Go to the right-hand table nearby the serving counter. You will see the Assembly Spider stops nearby one of the seats, the one on the East. Sitting on the seat there you will find the Wooden Dowels.
Resonator B - The Side Panels
For this Resonator, head to the West of the Serving Counter, the far end of where the patio furniture is. Sitting on a small rise here, you can find the resonator.
The Spider will emerge and lead you to the East, among the tall shelves on the Southern wall of the Patio area.
Between the second and third set of metal shelves, you can find the spider.
Go to the Southern wall. On the left-hand side of the pillar there you can find the Side Panels.
Assemble the Shelving Unit: KALLAX
With all 3 pieces gathered, you can go back to the Assembly Chamber to the North of the Serving Counter. In the center is a raised platform with an empty white wooden frame. Approach it and start interacting with it. This will have you insert the parts in their proper places.
With the pieces inserted, there are 2 things left to do. First is insert the Mysterious Soul Gem into the shelving unit. The second is to use the Staff of Assembly on it.
With a brilliant flash, KALLAX will be animated. Give it a minute to introduce itself and proclaim its loyalty to hauling your burdens with delight. Agree to have it as your follower and the quest will be completed!
