Approaching the Tech Lab

As you go up the slope from the Akkala Stable, you will see a number of frog statues that have the Yiga symbol tied over their faces. Take some time to get your best armor on. While it might sound like we’re sneaking in, we’re just drawing out the Yiga.

Entering the Lab

You won’t be able to go in through the front door. You will want to enter through the upper portion of the lab. Search around the area to find a number of crates. You can smash these to get arrows.

Regardless, you will want to head to the rooftop. Either climb up or use Ascend to easily reach the top. From there, head for the base of the Telescope. When you get to the base of the telescope, move to the Southern side of it.

Sitting under the telescope itself, you will find 3 crates on top of 2 wood flats that you can move with Ultrahand. Smash the crates to give access to the flats. You only need to move the flat closer to center. This will let you take the stairs down. Walk or attempt to sneak down the stairs. This will provoke the local Yiga Resident to call Link out for Combat.

Clearing the Yiga Clan

Link stands against the Yiga Ninja and Blademaster

To clear out this hideout you need to defeat the Yiga Blademaster and Ninja that reside here. Remember, it’s best to focus on the Yiga and not use the lock-on for any extended period. Attack whichever is closest, but keepa finger hovering over dodge.

The Yiga Blademaster has the Eightfold Longblade. It does more damage, has an extended reach and can launch a cutting burst of air toward its target. On top of that, the Blademaster can charge their fist for a quick attack that has it slam into the ground sending a ripple through the ground itself that will erupt under their target. The Blademaster is slower moving, but still possesses the Yiga Teleport manuever.

The Yiga Ninja is a simpler foe. They will: rush in for a strike, launch themselves into the air to shoot their dual arrow bows, vanish and then reappear over Link performing a downward stab. They are the more evasive foe by default.

This isn’t the easy combo to fight. But focus on whichever is actively targeting Link. Once one is down, the other is a lot easier to defeat.

Entering the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab

With the pair of Yiga Ninjas defeated, you can freely enter the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Inside, you will find a Fashonista working on a Yiga Uniform. This is Konba. He’s grateful that you’ve freed him. He will immediately give you the Yiga Armor that he was working on.

Head to the Eastern side of the lab itself. You’ll find a stone chest you can open. Inside that is the Travel Medallion Prototype. You can bring this back to Robbie at Lookout Landing to begin a new side quest and unlock the Travel Medallions.
