Help Koyin retrieve a message in a bottle from Lake Sumac and unlock Hateno Cheese in this Tears of the Kingdom Side Adventure.

Summary

Speak to Koyin in Hateno Village. She’s lost a message in a bottle that’s drifted out into the middle of the nearby Lake Sumac. Using Ultrahand, retrieve the bottle and return it to her. Follow her back to the farmhouse and unlock Hateno Cheese!

Description

Koyin, a farmer in Hateno Village, dropped a message bottle containing a letter from her great-grandfather into a pond.

Worse still, she’s not a good enough swimmer to dive into the pond it.

Walkthrough

Talk to Koyin

Head to the Southwestern coast of Lake Sumac in Hateno Village. You can find the dock there and Koyin fretting about the bottle she’s lost. Talk with her to learn its out in the Lake and she needs Link’s help to retrieve it.

Retrieve the Bottle from the Pond

Head along either coast of the lake. Only a short distance from the dock, you could be able to get an eye on the Bottle.

There are a few ways to approach this: You can Ultrahand and the nearby trees to make a raft to reach and grab the bottle or beam to reach out to the bottle and fuse it to the beam with Ultrahand. You can use any of a number of Zonai devices to create a bridge. You can throw Frost items on the water to create platforms.

Regardless, you will be able to reach the bottle. It’s recommended to use Ultrahand to grab and move the Bottle back to the shore. It makes it a lot easier to navigate the path back to shore for Link.

Return the Bottle to Koyin

With the bottle back on shore, you will find out you can’t pick it up. Use Ultrahand to grab the bottle. Bring it back to the South and the dock with Koyin. Set the bottle on the dock nearby Koyin. Approach and talk with her. It takes her a moment to notice the bottle. But she’ll read the note and get an idea. She’ll tell you to meet her in her house.

Meet Koyin in the Farmhouse

Koyin read the letter and got very excited. She then went back into the Farmhouse. Follow her there to the South. Find the front door and head inside. Just approach and talk with her inside. She will give you the first piece of Hateno Cheese. After that, she revamps her house to sell the cheese.
