Summary
Mega Man X Regenesis has 8 Heart Tanks and 4 Sub-Tanks. X can find a Heart tank in each Maverick Stage. Only Skyblade Squirrel, Tundrion Bear, Hydro Axolotl, and Stellar Primate stages also have the Sub-Tanks.
Heart Tank – Hydro Axolotl
Requirements: None

Play through until you reach the first ship of two floating on top of a massive pool. Destroy the first ship and sink down with it.

Go over to the right, jumping onto the small platform among all the spikes.

Just on the right-hand edge of the screen, you can see an opening to a spike-lined shaft. Dash jump over it to and carefully drop down it.

At the bottom, go a little to the left. You need to dash through a narrow spike-lined opening.

Carefully hop up to reach the Heart Tank on the nearby platform.
Heart Tank – Arson Vulpine
Requirements: None
- While no upgrades are required, either Air-Dash or Uppercut will make grabbing this ledge a lot easier.

Continue through the stage until you reach the shaft you need to climb up with the vanishing blocks and an Upgrade Chip sits in the bottom left corner of the shaft.

You want to climb upwards to the top-right of this shaft and jump over to the wall.

Carefully Dash-Jump off the wall to grab the ledge just above the right-hand wall. Climb upwards to the top of this wall to find the Heart Tank

Heart Tank – Bog Sapper
Requirements: None

Proceed through the level until you climb down a ladder, entering a corridor with acid dripping from the top and there’s a massive enemy that fires alternating High-Low Shots, a Cannon Driver. Destroy the Cannon Driver and jump onto its platform.

From there, jump onto the left-hand edge of the next platform with the 2 steel boxes (and the Mossy Ball De Voux). Slide down it and you’ll slip into a hidden tunnel. Follow this all the way to the right to find the Heart Tank.

Heart Tank – Rail Raccoon
Requirements: None
- While no upgrades are required, either Double Jump or Uppercut will make grabbing this ledge a lot easier.

This is found on top of the third train, in the middle section of the stage. This is just past a massive pile of scrap found on the middle of an open train car. Head to the right of it, climbing up to the rooftop of the next train car.

You can see the Heart Tank on the left-hand end. There’s an Upgrade Chip on the right-hand end. You want to head over to the right-hand end of the platform below the upgrades.

Reaching the platform with the Heart Tank
You’ll see a Head Gunner next to an Upgrade Chip. Destroy the Head Gunner then climb up onto the platform, collecting the Upgrade Chip.

From here, you will need to do a nearly pixel perfect Dash Jump to the left. This should get you onto the platform. Use the Air-Dash or Uppercut makes the jump more forgiving. Once on this platform, collect the Upgrade Chip nearby the ledge and head all the way to the left-hand end. You’ll reach the Heart
Heart Tank – Subterra Scorpion
Requirements: None

This Heart Tank is found at the end of the escape section, once you’ve gotten out of the building where you need to outrun the sand. When you emerge from the building, on the left, you can see an Upgrade chip sitting. Collect the Upgrade Chip and head over to the left-hand end of this rooftop.

Hidden behind a sand drift is the Heart Tank.
Heart Tank – Tundrion Bear
Requirements: Double Jump/Uppercut

Found in the middle portion of the stage. You are looking for a tilted to the right Power Pole, just before you need to jump onto an icy platform.

You want to go to the right-hand edge of the building and slide down it.

Slide all the way down and KEEP HOLDING LEFT!

At the bottom of the building’s wall, you’ll need to drop. Air-Dash to the left to land on the platform below. Keep going to the left to collect the Upgrade Chip sitting in this hidden area to the left. You’ll see the Heart Tank above you. An Upwards Air-Dash followed by an Uppercut will let you reach the narrow sides of the ceiling on the right. Just repeat after that to complete the climb.

Heart Tank – Stellar Primate
Requirements: None

This is found in the dark portion of the Ride Armor section. You need to get into the massive room with the exploding platforms. You will want to then rise to the ceiling of this room and go over to the right.

There will be a number of a small divots in the ceiling. Head to the right until you find the opening in the ceiling. Ascend up this shaft to reach a small chamber at the top. Sitting in this chamber is the Heart Tank.

Heart Tank – Skyblade Squirrel
Requirements: Uppercut And/Or Double Jump
The Short Way: Requires Uppercut + Double Jump

This starts where you get into the building just after the hovering platforms. You can see the Heart Tank just above the corridor you’re passing through.

Go to the left-hand side of the platform leading in. Jump up to the left, then Double Jump then Uppercut to reach the ledge above on the left. Head to the right and drop over the ledge to collect the Heart Tank.
The Long Way: Uppercut
This starts where you get into the building just after the hovering platforms. You can see the Heart Tank just above the corridor you’re passing through. Continue through here, dropping down the shaft with the Barrier Attackers.

Go to the right and out onto the platforms with the Metal Wings and the hovering platforms. This is the fifth one as you are climbing up.

Climb up to the fifth platform.

Dash Jump to the left from there and then Uppercut as you close on the left approaching on your left. Climb up the wall to the left to reach the ledge above you. Go to the left to collect an Upgrade Chip as well as the Heart Tank.

Sub-Tank – Skyblade Squirrel
Requirements: Uppercut, Double-Jump

Proceed through the stage, getting to about the mid-point, where you’ve gotten past the first conveyor belts with the spinning blades. Get to the very first moving platform over a spike pit. Clear away the mavericks that here.

At this point, jump onto the moving platform. Move to the left-hand edge. Execute a Dash-Jump to the left at the top of the moving platform’s cycle. Release Dash immediately. Air-Dash to the left, then Uppercut to get some additional height. This will land you on a ledge above the conveyor belts you just came across. Head all the way to the left to reach the Sub-Tank.

Sub-Tank – Tundrion Bear Stage
Requirements: None

Begin the stage. Once you’re through the opening dialogue, turn to the left and head over to the wall. Charge up your mega-buster to full. Blast the wall and it’ll break. Head through the new opening. Collect the Upgrade Chip and then take the ladder down.

Here, X will be covered by the foreground snow. Go over to the right to find the Sub-Tank on the ground.

Sub-Tank – Hydro Axolotl
Requirements: Double Jump Or Upper Cut

Start the stage and head through the first tunnel. When you reach the first waterfall going down, there are 2 paths to the Sub-Tank. More demanding is to climb upwards (Air-Dash recommended) and then Dash-Jump/Air-Dash to the right to reach the ledge across from you.

Otherwise, drop down with the waterfall and immediately head to the right (don’t descend any lower). Go to the wall and then Dash-Jump left to get just beyond the ledge above you. Use Uppercut to reach the ledge. Climb up it to grab the Sub-Tank.

Sub-Tank – Stellar Primate
Requirements: Dive Kick

As you approach the end of the Ride Armor section, just past the ladder, you will find a pit that’s safe to drop down with an electric defense on the left-hand side and a small ledge with an enemy on it. Drop down into the pit. Drop to the bottom.

Breaking through to reach the Sub-Tank
Go to the middle and perform a Dive Kick.

X will break through and drop a bit farther into a small hidden chamber with the Sub-Tank
