Overview

A short quest found in Cheydinhal. This will root out corruption and very high the fines experienced within Cheydinhal.

Getting Started

You can begin this quest by asking around about “Rumors.” Following that, you get the topic of “Fines.” This will lead you to the first person you need for this quest: Llevana Nedaren. She will now be marked on your map.

Walkthrough

Talk to Llevana Nedaren

Talking with Llevana Nedaren will have her direct you to the next important person: Garrus Darelliun. He is second-in-command to Ulrich Leland.

Talk with Garrus Darelliun

You will need to head to Castle Cheydinhal. You can find Garrus Darelliun in the main hall or within the barracks. To get anything about the Fines and Ulrich Leland, you will need Garrus to have a disposition of 60+ for you.

Finding Garrus isn’t too hard. He sleeps in the Guard Barracks from 12am to 6am. After that, he spends an hour in the Castle Great Hall. He then spends 15 hours patrolling the area around the throne.

Garrus Darelliun will explain that he needs a witness to provide testimony against Ulrich Leland. He tells you to find Aldos Othran. Othran lost his house to the fines that Leland has been enforcing.

Find Aldos Othran

You will need to find Aldos Othran who wanders around Cheydinhal. He is marked on the map now. You just need to track down him and talk with him.

Talking with Aldos Othran, you will realize how drunk he is. He will tell you to follow him before you can say anything to him.

Follow Aldos Othran

Follow Aldos Othran as he heads back to what was his house. He yells at the Guard in front of it. Then he pulls a dagger and attacks the Guard. You are locked in position and can’t interfere as he’s cut down in front of you.

Report to Llevana Nedaren

You need to find and talk with Llevana Nedaren again now. She promises to cover the burial expenses of Aldos and see him interred next to his wife.

Talk to Garrus Darelliun

Garrus is sad to hear about Aldos. But he sees this as another reason to ensure that Ulrich is brought to Justice. Listening to him, he’ll give you the key to Ulrich Leland’s quarters within the Guard’s Barracks of Castle Cheydinhal.

Talking with Garrus Darelliun will mark both Ulrich Leland’s quarters and Ulrich Lelandon your map.

You can either get the Evidence for Garrus or you can find Ulrich Leland and lead him to Llevana.

Get the Evidence for Garrus Darelliun

Getting the evidence isn’t too hard to do. But you will want to enter the Cheydinhal Barracks at any time and go to the marked room. Ulrich’s room is just inside, across from the entrance, to the right.

Once inside Ulrich’s Room, you will need to find a note. This note sits on top of the dresser to the right of the door into the room. It’s likely on a book. Collect the Suspicious Letter and it’s time to return and report to Garrus Darelliun.

Lead Ulrich Leland to Llevana Nedaren

Head out into Cheydinhal itself. You will see that there’s a marker showing the location of Ulrich Leland.

He’s routine isn’t too hard to manage: he sleeps in his private quarters from 12am to 6am. He then randomly patrols Cheydinhal. He will sit down for a 2 hour meal around 10am. He resumes his random patrolling after that.

Report to Garrus Darelliun

You need to find Garrus Darelliun. He’ll be marked on your map if you’re having trouble finding him. He’s usually in the main hall of the Castle, otherwise in the Guard Barracks sleep.

Approach and talk with Garrus

• If you have the note, you will automatically turn it over. He’ll take the note to the Count immediately.
• If you lead Ulrich to his death, Garrus will express his disappointment.

Either way, he will ask you to meet him at the Cheydinhal Bridge Inn in 2 hours.

Meet Garrus Darelliun at the Cheydinhal Bridge Inn

This can be a little tricky because of bugs in the game/quest. Head for the Inn. You can either wait within the Inn or in the City as long as its OUTSIDE the castle.

Known Bugs

• Experienced a glitch where Garrus Darelliun wouldn’t show up at the Cheydinhal Bridge Inn. Resolved it by waiting after talking with Llevana until 9am the next day.
• Above glitch is caused by given Garrus Darelliun the note from Ulrich while the Count is unavailable.
• Avoiding waiting within Castle Cheydinhal or nearby Garrus Darelliun to avoid other known bugs.
