Summary

The Hero is sent to assassinate the traveling Dunmer merchant: Alval Uvani. You are to intercept him, and eliminate him. Then report to the Market District of the Imperial City to locate the hollow stump behind Stonewall Shields to collect your next contract.

Walkthrough

Collect the Contract

With the previous contract completed, you will need to head to Fort Redman. Get inside the courtyard of the Fort either through the Eastern or Western archway. On the ground level, just to the right of the door leading into the Fort itself you can find the Coffin with the payment for your previous contract and your next contract, “A Matter of Honor.”

Alval Uvani’s Schedule

The schedule given just gives the basics:

• The night of Mondras to Tirdas, he stays in Bravil at The Lonely Suitor Lodge
• The night of Middas to Turdas, he stays in Skingrad at the West Weald Inn
• The night of Fredas to Loredas, he stays in Bruma at Olav’s Tap and Tack
• On Sundas he visits his own house in Leyawiin

Important Note:

You can cause Alval to teleport to his next destination by fast traveling or waiting. This can make your life much simpler using that trick alone.

His practical schedule breaks down to this, but this is exempting fast travel:

Mondras:

• 12am-2pm – Travels from his House in Leyawiin to Bravil via the Greed Road
• 2pm-4pm – Wanders the Lonely Suitor Lodge
• 4pm-6pm – Sits at tables and starts eating
• 6pm-12am (Tirdas) – Eats upstairs

Middas

• 12am-10am – Travels brings him to Fort Virtue
• 10am-5pm – Travels to West Weald Inn via the Golden Road
• 5pm-12am (Turdas) Eats in main room and upstairs

Fredas

• 12am-1am (Loredas) – Travel to Bruma and arrive at Olav’s Tap and Tack
• 1am-12am (Sundas) – Eats in Olav’s Tap and Tack

Sundas

• 12am-5:30am – Travels Silver Road
• 5:30am-12:30pm – Travels Red Ring Road
• 12:30-5pm – Travels Yellow Road to (unmarked) Malada Road
• 5pm-12am – Eats at the intersection of Yellow Road and Malada Road
• 12am-5am (Mondras) – Travels Yellow Road to Talos Bridge
• 5am-8:30am (Mondras) – Travels from Talos Bridge to Old Bridge
• 8:30-4pm – Travels to Bravil’s Lonely Suitor Lodge
  • The journey from Bruma to Leyawiin is impossible to make in the allotted time with the teleport effect.
  • He will divert to Bravil, if you don’t wait or fast travel, arriving there around 4pm on Mondras

If you Teleport Alval to his house he schedule is thus:

• 1am-11am (Sundas) – Eating
• 11am-4pm – Wandering his house
• 4pm-12am – Eating before departing for Bravil

Eliminate Alval Uvani

With all that broken down, you will need to quick consult your present time in-game. Use that to figure out where you need to go. Using Fast Travel is the best way to intercept him. Look at the day and figure out which location you need to travel to.

Once you get there, the work can be very straight forward. If you have Mead, apprarently Alval has a honey allergy that will Paralyze him. Either set some Mead nearby him or sell some to the local proprietor.

It’s very easy to get the kill while Alval is traveling between cities with the information above. Directly attacking him is to attack a decently powerful mage. Getting in a good sneak attack helps a lot to quickly drop him.

Lastly, you can always use the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal to avoid any consequences from the guards (just don’t wear the Cowl outside to avoid THAT fallout).

The Dead Drop

Once you’ve eliminated Alval Uvani, you need to go collect your reward and your next contract. Head out to the Imperial City’s Market District. You will need to locate Stonewall Shields. Behind it is a Hollowed-Out Tree Stump.

Once you arrive at the fast travel point, take the stairs on up. Go to the right when you reach the top of the stairs. Go just past the door into Rindir's Staffs. Head through the archway there to get into the small garden you're looking for.

Open the container. You’ll find Dead Drop Contract #6, your next mission: The Coldest Sleep.
