Accept the Contract

• Accepting the Contract completes the mini-quest “No Rest for the Wicked.”

Talk with Vicente Valtieri in the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Accept the contract from him. He explains that there will be a bonus if you manage to get through the Sewers and Prison without killing any Guards.

Navigate the Sewers

Head out to the Northeastern edge of the Imperial City’s island. Inside the Sewers, start by heading forward to the Southwest. You will encounter a few animals in the second chamber. Go back to the first chamber and head to the West.

Follow the corridor as it turns to the Southwest. Head through the corridor to the West. This leads to a small bridge over some water with Slaughterfish in it. Just head for the door to the West to get into the Sewers themselves.

Inside this room of the Sewers, you can see a pair of Chests just opposite where you entered. Head 1 room to the Southeast to find more animals that will attack you. Turn to the Northeast from there and drop into the water and head to the tunnel there.

In this chamber, go to the Northwest. Jump up onto the ledge. Turn to the Northwest and go through the archway there. Turn to the left and go over to the swing wheel. Interact with it to lower the nearby sluice gate.

You can also head to the West and across the water. You can pick the lock here for the Locked Gate (Hard). Continue to the West to the door there. This will lead you to another area of the sewers.

This leads into the circular room, the center of which is filled with water. There are a few Slaughterfish swimming in the water here. Some can be flopping on the walkway over the center of the room. You can head to the East and open the gate there. Follow the corridor out to the next the next flow way. Turn to the right here (going South). Take the next right after that and go into the chamber there. You can expect a few animals there. Deal with them, if desired, then take the stairs on the right up to the landing above. Look to the Northwest and take the ladder up to reach the Sanctum. It’s locked (Average).

In the Sanctum, you will need to wait a minute: there are a pair of guards talking there. They will finish and break into different areas. One goes to the Southeast and one to the West. Go to the Southeast through the doorway. This doorway will lead you into the Imperial Subterrane.

In this chamber, head to the Northeast. Carefully use the stairs to go to the Northeast and head to the Eastern Archway. Take this corridor into the next chamber.

Be mindful in this chamber since there is a Guard patrolling that you will need to carefully avoid. Dodge around them and make your way to the West through the chamber. Take the stairs up to the North. Continue to the North and turn to the left. Open the pair of doors to the West.

In the next chamber, you will want to head to the West and just go through it. Take the stairs to the right. Continue to the Northwest after that. Open the door here to reach the Imperial Prison.

Inside the Imperial Prison, start by heading to the Northwest. Take the stairs up and follow the path to the left. Take the stairs on up and turn to the right. Take the stairs on up and through the opening at the top of the stairs. This will bring you back into the cell where this whole series of events started.

You will find a guard talking with Valen Dreth. Go ahead and listen to the conversation.

Assassinate Valen Dreth in the Imperial Prison

Inside the cell, you will need to head over to the Northeast and to the cell door. Approach the door after the Guard has walked away, the conversation over. Approach the Valen Dreth’s Cell Door. It’s Locked (Hard). Pick it and you can get through. Valen Dreth is briefly surprised and elated. Then he realizes the truth, you’re here to end him.

Leave the Imperial Prison

It’s time to head back through the Sewers. Backtrack on through the tunnels.

Collect Your Rewards

Once you’re back out of the Sewers, Fast Travel back to Cheydinhal. Once again, return to the Abandoned House. Slip through it and back into the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary. Just talk with Vicente Valtieri. He will reward you with gold for your work, but also gives you the Scales of Pitiless Justice. The Scales will provide a benefit as long as they are in your Inventory.
