Summary

Accept the final contract from Vicente Valtieri and help Francois Motierre fake his death. Leave the other assassin alive and flee Chorrol. After 24 hours, return to the Chapel of Stendarr to revive Francois and protect him from his undead ancestors. Escort him to the Grey Mare, then return to the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary to complete the contract, receive your promotion, and gain access to a new liaison: Ocheeva.

Walkthrough

Accept the Contract – To Serve Sithis (Mini-quest)

Inside the Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary, talk with Vicente Valtieri. He will explain that this contract is different from your previous assignments. Rather than killing Francois Motierre, you need to help him fake his own death.

Valtieri gives you the Langourwine Blade, which causes Francois to enter a death-like state when struck. Take the blade and travel to Chorrol.

Meet with Francois Motierre

You will need to travel out to Chorrol. Once there, you will need to head to the Northeast. Go up the slope and go to the house on the left. You will need to break in through the Locked Door (Hard).

Inside, you will meet Francois Motierre. Talk with him to learn the details of the plan. Once the conversation is complete, equip the Langourwine Blade.

You need to wait just a minute or so for Hides-His-Heart to come into the house. Once he does, suffer through some of Francois Motierre’s terrible acting before striking him. Francois Motierre will immediately “die.”

Run

Your objective is simply to escape Chorrol. Hides-His-Heart will aggressively pursue you, so do not waste time trying to defeat him. If you have a Paralyze spell or another ability that can temporarily disable him, use it to create some distance before fleeing.

You need to get outside Chorrol before continuing the quest.

Wait 1 Day

Once you have escaped the city, you will be instructed to wait one full day before returning for Francois.

Find a safe location and wait 24 hours. Staying somewhere outside Chorrol is an easy option. You can also travel to a nearby cleared ruin or cave and wait there if you prefer.

Revive Francois Motierre

After the day has passed, you can return to Chorrol safely. Head over to the Chapel of Stendarr. Once inside, go forward and take the stairs down into the lower area of the chapel. Head to the left or right to reach the Chapel Undercroft.

Inside the Chapel Undercroft, go forward and to the right. This will bring you over to a chamber. Go to the Southern side. You’ll find Francois Motierre laying here. Approach and interact with him to administer the antidote.

Defend Francois Motierre

After Francois Motierre talks with you, his ancestors will rise and attack.

You need to defeat three Mortierre Zombies.

• First Mortierre Zombie: Rises in the same chamber as Francois.
• Second Mortierre Zombie: Head into the western chamber to find it.
• Third Mortierre Zombie: Comes up from the southern area.

Defeat all three zombies, then head south and leave the Chapel of Stendarr.

You will need to defeat 3 Mortierre Zombies. 1 Mortierre Zomie rises in the same chamber. Go to the Western chamber to find another Mortierre Zombie. A third comes up from the Southern area. Go to the South and leave the Chapel of Stendarr.

Escort Francois Motierre to the Grey Mare

Once outside the Chapel you will need to head to the East. Head toward the Chorrol South Gate and go to the East of there to reach Grey Mare. Go inside the Inn after that.

Inside the Inn, just talk with Francois Motierre to conclude the contract. He's grateful for your help and will arrange to leave Cyrodiil.

Report to Vicente Valtieri

With everything done, head back to Cheydinhal and go into the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary inside the Abandoned House. Just talk with Vicente Valtieri to finishy the contract and get paid for your efforts. You will receive a promotion and the amulet: Cruelty’s Heart.
