Oblivion Remastered: Hand-to-Hand
Learn where to find the Advanced Trainers, locate Helvius Cecia in Bruma, and complete the unarmed challenge to unlock Hand-to-Hand Master Training in Oblivion Remastered.
Once you reach a skill level of 70 or higher with Hand-to-Hand, you will be able to talk with the Advanced Trainers to learn about the location of the Master Trainer.
Summary
Talk with either Davela Hlaren or Ra’qanar. They will direct you to Helvius Cecia. Helvius Cecia can be found in Bruma. The Hero must reduce Helvius Cecia’s health by half in a fist fight.

Advanced Trainers
Davela Hlaren
Davela Hlaren can be found at the Imperial Bridge Inn. She runs the Inn. The Inn is found to the East of Bravil, across the river. Talking to her about “Training” and she’ll direct you to Helvius Cecia who she says knows more about fist fighting than anyone else.

- Davela Hlaren can always be found behind the Counter at the Imperial Bridge Inn.
Ra’qanar
Ra’qanar is a Khajiit Monk that works as a Servant in Cheydinhal Castle. He is also a member of the Thieves Guild. Talking with him about “Training” will have him tell you that you need to learn from the best, and that is Helvius Cecia.
Daily Schedule:
- 2am-8am – Sleeps in quarters found in the Western area of the County Hall
- 8am-5pm – Wanders room
- 5pm-7pm – Enters Guards barracks to sneak food. If successfully steals, then eats in remaining time
- 7pm-9pm – Time in own room
- 9pm-2am – In the Great Hall to server Count Andel Indarys dinner, linger in dinner area
Helvius Cecia
Helvius Cecia is an Imperial Rogue living in Bruma and is also affiliated with the Thieves Guild. Once he agrees to train you, he'll remain inside his home permanently, making him easy to find for future training sessions.
Daily Schedule
- 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM: Sleeps.
- 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Wanders around his house.
- 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM: 50% chance to visit Novaroma.
- 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Eats dinner.
- 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM: Wanders around his house.
Sundas Schedule
On Sundas, Helvius follows the same routine except that at 8:00 AM he visits the Great Chapel of Talos to worship the Nine Divines.
Brawl with Helvius Cecia
Once you've found Helvius Cecia, he'll challenge you to an unarmed fight before agreeing to become your Master Trainer.
Before accepting:
- Unequip all weapons.
- Ask any followers to wait outside so they don't interfere.
- Cast any beneficial buffs before initiating the fight if desired.
Speak with Helvius and accept the challenge. Once the fight begins, raise your fists immediately and attack him using only Hand-to-Hand combat. Spells are allowed, provided you never draw a weapon.
The challenge is completed once you've reduced Helvius Cecia's health to approximately half. He'll surrender and agree to become your Master Hand-to-Hand Trainer, allowing you to train the skill from 70 to 100.
Important: The challenge immediately fails if you equip or draw a weapon. It can also fail if you wait too long before entering unarmed combat.
