This is 1 of 7 quests that needs to be done to Join the Mages Guild and gain access to the Arcane University in the Imperial City.

Leyawiin Mages Guild

This Mages Guild is found in the Western part of the town. It’s between Southern Books and the Blackwood Company Hall. This Guild Hall specializes in the Mysticism school of Magic. You will want to talk with Agata and Alves Uvenim to buy spells. Dagail and S’drassa are the trainers for Mysticism and Alchemy respectively.

Walkthrough

Talk to Dagail

Make your way inside the Leyawiin Mages Guild. You will need to find the head of the Hall, Dagail. She’s an Altmer who’s presently dealing with an issue about a missing amulet. Without it, she is constantly hearing voices in her head and can’t shut them out. She needs that amulet to keep a better grasp on herself. Agree to help her and she’ll send you to someone who can get you going in the right direction: Agata.

Talk to Agata

Continue to search around the Guild Hall. You are looking for the Nord: Agata. She can normally be found on the ground level of the hall. Talk to her about the “Seer’s Stone” and you’ll learn more about Dagail and she curious circumstances. Agata will ask you to speak with the other Mages in the Guild Hall to see if any one of them knows about the Stone.

Interrogate the Mages

You can talk with almost all the mages in the Guild Hall about Dagail and the Seer’s Stone. As always, there’s someone more important than the rest. You can simplify things by talking with the Nord, Kalthar. He knows a LOT about the Amulet, and Dagail’s family history. You’ve got a lead.

Report to Agata

After talking with Kalthar, the quest will update with a prompt to visit Agata. Go and talk with her about the Seer’s Stone. She’s quick to point out Kalthar having overheard you two talking about it.

Talk to Dagail about her Father

Once again, you need to head to Dagail. Approach and talk with her to immediately trigger the next conversation. She explains that she knows what you would be asking about. She immediately tells you that you will need to head to Fort Blueblood to retrieve the amulet from her father.

Retrieve the Amulet from Fort Blueblood

It’s time to retrieve the Seer’s Stone that Dagail’s father had that was buried with him. It’s exact location is unknown, but it’s somewhere in Fort Blueblood. This remote fort is found in the Southern part of Cyrodiil, to the East of Leyawiin, within the Blackwoods.

When you get to the Fort, you will want to head into the main part of the ruins. The door itself sits inside the Ruins along the Southeastern interior wall. Likely with some form of Bandit in front of it. Once inside, you will need to make your way deep into the Fort to find the grave you’re searching for.

Fort Blueblood

Go inside and head to the Southwest (right). There’s likely a guard there, so deal with them. They patrol along the corridor, stopping in front of this gate (which will be your way out). Moving forward will have you going to the Northeast. Take the first right you can and go down the stairs.

Take the stairs down into the first chamber. There are a few more Bandits lurking and patrolling around. Go to the Northeast to find the exit out of this one. It leads into a short hallway before connecting to another chamber.

This second chamber has another Bandit inside it in the lower portion. Deal with them and turn to the Northwest. Look to the Northern corner from the hallway exit to find a Chest. Going up the other set of stairs in this room to the South leads to a practice area with more weapons and another Chest. The Northern one next to the doorway you need just leads to a lootable barrel

Exit this third chamber through the Northern archway. Follow the corridor to find the door that leads to the next area of the Fort.

Fort Blueblood Halls

The marker is now green, so you’re in the right area to find the grave. Follow the stairs down and turn to the left. Deal with any Bandits that are in your way. Take the stairs down into the first chamber and start searching for the pair of bandits watching this room. Deal with them and head to the Southeast through the doorway there.

You’ll hit a corridor after that. Go to the sides of the corridor to avoid a pressure plate trap sitting in the middle of it. Open the door at the end of the hallway to enter the next chamber.

This chamber has a lower section, so look for the stairs to ensure there isn’t a Bandit on them. There are likely 3 Bandits in this room. The biggest challenge is you’ll likely encounter the Leader in this room.

The good news there is that the Leader has the Key for Fort Blueblood. This will let you just access anything that’s locked inside this fort. Take the bridge across. Look for the doorway leading to the South. Go through this large archway into the hallway beyond.

At the end of the hallway is a Locked Door that requires the Key for Fort Blueblood. There’s a dead marauder just ahead of the turn. Go forward and turn to the left. You’ll find a Troll, Will-o’-the-Wisp, and (or similar) waiting for you at the base of the stairs. You’ll also find a collection of coffins. Go to the Southeastern corner to find Manduin’s Coffin. This is the one you’re looking for. Inside the chest is the Seer’s Stone he used.

As you turn to leave, you are supposed to be confronted by Kalthar. He will confess to taking the Seer’s Stone and demand you turn over Manduin’s Amulet so he can assume control of the Leyawiin Mages Guild. The only way out from here is through Kalthar. Defeat him and take the Key he’s got. The door is locked if you managed to slip passed him and it won’t open with only the Fort Blueblood Key.

Exiting Fort Blueblood

With everything on hand, make your way back out of this burial room. Turn to the Northwest and go through the doorway there. Follow the hallway and you’ll find a doorway that leads directly back to the top level of Fort Blueblood.

Here, head to the gate. Just to the right of the gate is the lever you need. Pull it and the gate will open. After that, just take the nearby stairs to the left upwards. You’ll be back outside just through the doors at the top.

Report to Agata or Dagail

Leave Fort Blueblood and make your way back to the Leyawiin Mage’s Guild however you choose. Once inside, you just need to talk with Dagail or Agata. Talking with Dagail she’ll recognize that you’ve got the amulet she needs. She’ll then become more herself and gladly offer to write a recommendation on your behalf to the Arcane University.

Agata will happily accept the Amulet from you (if you didn’t give it to Dagail directly). She’ll write out the recommendation for you to send along to the Arcane University.
