Summary

Nornal is an Ayleid Ruin with 3 zones to explore. Mostly populated with some bandits, and wild animals. It’s found in the Nibenay Basin, just along the River.

Walkthrough

Location

Nornal

Go on down the stairs and loop to the outside of the walkway. You can find a small Locked Chest (Average) here with a Welkynd Stone sitting on the ground nearby. Continue along the walkway after that to the Southwest. Be mindful of the animal toward the base of the stairs.

When you get to the bottom of the stairs, you hit a T-Intersection. If you go to the right, you will find a flooded room with a Locked Door (Average). The Rusty Key to open this door can be found in Nornal Ageasel. You can find a sunken chest during “A Kiss Before Dying.”

If you go to the left, you will get into a large chamber with 4 more animals (mud crabs or rats) spread around. Searching around it. Loop over to the right of the door where you will find a large crate. You’ll find a Wall Push Block behind the large crate. Pushing this button will open the Northeast Wall. You can also head to the Southeast to find a door leading to Nornal Varlasel

Head to the Northeast from there. You will find a door has opened there. Continue to the Northeast to find the door leading to Nornal Ageasel. Just in front of it is a Bandit.

You can head to the East to find a doorway leading to stairs. Take the stairs up to find another Bandit at the top of them. Defeating the Bandit, you can find a Locked Door (Easy). Follow the passage to reach a door leading to Nornal Varlasel.

Nornal Varlasel

There are 2 doors into this area from Nornal. The Northeast passage leading to a short bridge. This has 2 Bandits on it. It leads to a doorway going into Nornal Goriluch.

If you come in from Nornal Goriluch, there is an Undead lurking by the door. Go forward to the gate in front of you. Look to the right of the gate to find a Wall Switch. Interact with the switch to open the gate.

Going through the gateway, you can find a bandit looking down on a balcony. Look to the right (Northeast) to find a Chest. Go to the Western side of this balcony to find a push block. Activate it to cause two covers to lift down in the middle of the room. Under those covers you can find a pair of Varla Stones.

This is part of the room is easily accessible from Nornal Drop down to the floor, deal with the animal likely running around there. You will want to head over to the Northwest corner of the room. Look to the right of the door leading to Nornal, on the opposite side of the wall. You’ll find another Push Block to activate. This will raise up the remaining 2 covers. Only 1 of them has another Varla Stone inside it.

You can head up the stairs to the Northeast. Taking those stairs up, will bring you to a small area. You will find the bridge leading to into Goriluch above you. Above it, you will find a Locked Ayleid Cask (Average) on the right.

The final part of this area is to head to the Southwest. Take the stairs here upwards. There’s likely an animal or two up here. Getting to the end of the area, you can find a Welkynd Stone on the ground among the shards in the dirt.

Nornal Ageasel

Coming in here from Nornal, you will need to head on up the stairs. Be mindful of the pressure trap sitting toward the top of the stairs. You will find a pair of spiked balls will swing down from the ceiling.

At the top of the stairs, you can find a path that splits between left and right. Go down either side to find a few more Bandits. Both are patrolling around the area. 1 of them will occasionally settle down on a bedroll. There is a trap that lowers a grate onto a raised platform in the middle of the room. There are a number of Welkynd Stones scattered around the room on pillars.

Go to the Northeast area where you can find the Bedroll. Nearby that you can find a small platform that has a Locked Ayleid Reliqurary. Look to the South of there, on the ground nearby the bedroll, to find a pair of Chests. The one on the right has the Rusty Key you would need to unlock the submerged door in Nornal.

Nornal Goriluch

If you take the bridge entrance, take the stairs down and through the hallway. Getting to the end you’ll find a larger chamber with more animals inside it. This room has a series of gate that you need to open.

There are 4 gates here. Just in front of the first gate is a set of 4 pushblocks

• Top Left: Toggles the first and third gates (When first and third are closed, only first will open)
• Top Right: Toggles first and second gates (When both are closed, only first will open)
• Bottom Left: Toggles third gate (When First, second and fourth gates are open, then second gate closes
• Bottom Right: Toggles First and Fourth Gates

You just need to get 3 of the 4 Gates open and then you can jump to get around the first gate and reach the back portion of this area. Just head toward the wall to trigger a section wall lowering. From there, you can expect a few Undead to emerge and come at you. Head to the right-hand side of the Gate to find the opened section.

Through the opening, go forward into it to the Southwest. Head to the middle of the area to find an Ayleid Chest.

The water below the bridge has a few Slaughterfish swimming around in it. If you fall into the water, you will need to swim to the Southwestern side of the pool. You’ll find the top of an archway. Swim through there and take the stairs up to reach Varlasel.
