Oblivion Remastered – Tidal Cave Guide
Tidal Cave is a small coastal dungeon southeast of Leyawiin in Oblivion Remastered. Learn where to find hidden underwater chests, and valuable plants.

The cave can be fully explored before its related quest, “Nocturnal.”A portion of the cave is filled with knee-high water. This water makes it harder to sneak because of the increased noise.

Walkthrough
Exterior
As you approach the cave, be on guard for a pair of Azhklan Trolls. They are moving around the area. Nirnroot can be found Southwest of the entrance on the Northern side of the large rocks by the water. Additionally you can find Clouded Funnel Caps, St Jahn’s Wort, and Stinkhorns around here.
- Azhklan Trolls are around found outside while Kalperklan Trolls are found inside.
- Either variety of Trolls will have Calipers, useful for the Shivering Isles quest: “Work is Never Done”
Tidal Cave

Once inside the cave itself start sneaking since there are a number of trolls throughout. Start down the slope. An Azhklan Troll can be seen wandering with a wild animal (potentially) nearby. Pick them off or just carefully go down the slope.
As the path levels out, look to the South. You can find an opening here leading into a corridor that goes off to the East and down a slope. Follow it as it turns to the North and into a cavern. You find it water-logged with a Kalperklan Troll moving around within it. Look to the West to potentially spot a wild animal. Turn your attention back to the center of the Northern wall to find a Chest. Look to the Northwest corner to find a Bed you can potentially rest in. There’s nothing else to find so head back through the tunnel to the main corridor of the Tidal Cave.

Head back into the main corridor and turn to the North. Take the slope down into the next chamber. Stay on guard for more animals since another patrols here. Go forward carefully now since it leads into the water-logged portion of the cave.
Be careful since there are wild animals moving around this section. Listen, if you can, for them. Be sure to take the first turn to the East. This looks like a dead end, but it's an underwater path. Dive down and continue to the East. Follow it to the North and you’ll encounter some Slaughterfish. Surface in the chamber you’re led to. You’ll find a floating chest there you can easily open. Go back through the underwater path to the West. Turn to the North to continue.
In this tunnel of the Cave, go to the Northeast and into the connected chamber. There’s another Troll in this one. It can be standing around or patrolling slowly where it can. Turn around and head to the South to go back into the previous corridor.
In this corridor, head all the way to the Southwest. This leads to a small submerged tunnel. Dive down into it. If you have the quest “Nocturnal” active, you will find the Eye of Nocturnal in this chest.

Otherwise, it’s likely just normal loot. Either way, that’s the whole cave. Make your way back up the slopes and head outside of the cave.
