When the Mini Stable in Lookout Landing has opened you can talk with Lester. Link will learn his horse Spot has run off. Lester will ask Link to find Spot and return him to Lookout Landing

Lester, who manages the stable at Lookout Landing, told you his beige, dappled horse, Spot, ran away.

Spot is supposedly timid though, so he may still be close by.

Walkthrough

Talk to Lester

Go to the Southern entrance of Lookout Landing. You can find the Mini Stable there. Approach and talk with Lester, the head of the Mini Stable. He’ll be lamenting about his horse Spot vanishing into the nearby field.

Find Spot

You will need to head to the South, going to hills just South of Lookout Landing. In these hills, you can spot a herd of horses. In that herd is Spot.

You need to take your time with sneaking. You need to approach Spot from behind to avoid having him run away. Approach then mount. Immediately start soothing Spot. It takes a minute, but he’ll calm down.

Return Spot

Once you have Spot (mostly) under control then you will want to guide Spot back to the nearby Lookout Landing.

Spot has balanced stats and makes a dependable early-game horse, making this quest well worth completing shortly after arriving at Lookout Landing.
