Summary

Link volunteers to eliminate a Hinox that’s posing a threat to the monster-elimination squads. He is sent off to the Tribly Plain. Find the Hinox there and defeat it. Return to Gralens in the Lookout Landing Emergency Shelter to get paid for your efforts.

Gralens of the monster-control crew at Lookout Landing told you that the team discovered a Hinox.

This giant cyclops with incredible strebgth dwells around Tribly Plain near Woodland Stable Northeast of Hyrule Field.

Walkthrough

Get the Assignment

Go into the Lookout Landing Emergency Shelter. Talk with Gralens about “How about big monsters?” and choose “Hinox!” He’ll give you the location to get started. It’s not terribly far from Lookout Landing. He’ll tell you about the Hinox in the Tribly Plan nearby Woodland Stable in northeast Hyrule Field.

Locate the Hinox

It’s simple matter of following the roads to the Northeast from Lookout Landing. Follow this road over 2 Bridges. After the second, turn to the North and into the trees. You’ll see the Hinox without much trouble given its size.

Eliminate the Hinox

If the Hinox is asleep, that is a great chance to sneak up and hit it for sneakstrike damage. But the best option is just equip one of your strongest weapons and start attacking. While it gets up, just keep attacking.

Once the Hinox is up, there are you’ll need to keep in mind. First of them is that the Hinox has weapons around its neck. These can be grabbed if Link gets close enough. Second, the Hinox can be stunned by shooting its eye with an Arrow. It’s its critical spot. The Hinox will slump into a seated position. Use that to charge in and resume a heavy attack. The problem is the Hinox does realize this and will put its hand over its eye to protect it when it sees you aiming your bow toward it.

Fighting the Hinox can be challenging because of its size. Keep on the move. Understand that getting underneath it will prompt it to use a butt-slam attack. It can rip trees out of the ground to attack Link with. It can also throw boulders if you get too far away from it.

When you defeat the Hinox, be sure to search around its corpse to collect the weapons/shields that it drops. Be sure to also collect the monster parts since they’re good to use in Elixirs.

Report to Gralens

Make your way back to Lookout Landing via Fast Travel (or just ride/run). Go back into the Emergency Shelter and head to the Southern side of it to reach Gralens. Talk to him about the Hinox and report that you’ve defeated it.

Gralens will take a moment to verify the elimination. After that, you will be paid for your efforts.

  • If this is the third wanted monster, you will receive 300 rupees instead.
