"Search for your friends" is an objective in the Story Mission Bright Lights, Flying City in Borderlands 2

Welcome to The Fridge. It's cold in here and there are a lot of Rats for you to deal with. To the left you will find the first Circle of Slaughter. It's good for XP right now, but clearing it should wait until you have access until all 4 quick change slots in your inventory are available.
Head on through to the massive door. Look to the right of it to find the button to open it up. Go on through and deal with the first wave of rats that come at you. Make your way down through the Frigid Cleft to the Icemaw Grotto. keep to the Southern side of it and make for the door in front of you. On the left-hand side you will find a switch to let you inside. Just go over to it and interact with it to keep moving forward. Once through the second door, go over to the lift platform. Throw the lever and you will be lowered toward the entrance to The Highlands Outwash. Just go on through when you make it down.
Once outside go around the corner. If possible, take a moment to get some Shock-type weaponry. Stalkers lurk around here and they are naturally shielded. Zap them with shock to make them visible and strip away their shielding. As you make it to the vending machines, Sanctuary will reappear. Time to get there.
