The parachute is an item acquired during the second half of Far Cry 3, when the player gets access to the Southern Island by jumping out of Willis' plane.
The parachute, when used in conjunction with the wingsuit, allows players to survive long falls from great heights, and allows them to maneuver more finely in the air.
