Note #2: This tutorial starts from after meeting the mage. If you need help in one of the previous missions, check here

1. After speaking to the mage, head down the path opposite the goblin encampment, towards the dwarven area. Take a left at the gate to the open area. Here you will find a knight who will join your troops, kill a few ogres, and get some loot.

2. After doing this, head back to the mage, then go up the path and head to the snowy area, following it round till you get to the werewolf monastery place. Kill all the wolves till you get to the gem of rebooting. If you try and click it...nothing will happen, but don't worry about that Head up the stairs to the area behind the gem. In one of the chests you should find the dwarven key.

3. Now, take a nice leisurely stroll back to the mage, then over to the dwarven area, where you can now use the key to open the gate! Head inside, enjoy the cut scenes etc, then make your way to the golem, killing any dwarves in your way.

4. Once the golem is defeated, you should now see a cut scene of someone inserting that gem you didn't pick up into the golem! But...it still doesn't work. Take your troops around killing any remaining dwarves, and pressing the rune buttons on the statues (4 buttons to press).

5. Now take your troops and your golem back to the mage, who will get it to break down the goblin gate. Huzzah! Now you can also control the mage (Only his first two spells work)

6. From here on out it's pretty straightforwad. Use your troops to kill all the goblins as you make your way through the encampment. Free any prisoners from cages you find along the way (Not really necessary, but I'm too nice a guy to leave em there!). Eventually you'll get to an area with two champion ogres. Scary stuff :s

7. Enjoy the cut scene, then kill the two ogres and the "Big Man" to enjoy the final cut scene of the tutorial! Congratulations, you're a winner! Although the game just carries on, no fireworks, no medals, no parade for you. You don't get any more quests after that, and the buggy reboot gem quest remains there.

Tips[edit]

  • To avoid having to recruit more troops because you keep losing em to overwhelming numbers or stronger enemies, I recommend building three barracks. Each one should let you recruit 5 Militia. This gives you a total of 15 militia (if it doesn't bug out like my game did, only showing 12), one knight, and one mage. I found this was easily enough to stomp through the goblin encampment from start to finish. Even if you don't make it all the way through the first time, get your troops as far as you can, then simply recruit some more and send em in to finish the job
  • Don't do what I did and panic when your mage dies, thinking you can't complete the quest as he's a main character...He simply respawns where you first encounter him, no worse for wear.
  • Don't worry to much about any of the equipment you pick up. There's only really three pieces I've found with any stat boosts on them:
    - A helmet with +5 Strength for your knight/militia.
    - A Ring with +2 Vitality for your knight/militia
    - A Sword with +2 Strength for your knight
  • If you're eager to play around with equipping items however, simply select a unit, and in the bottom left of the screen where his portrait and buttons are, the button at the very end will open up his personal inventory. Then simply press the "i" key on your keyboard to see your loots. Left click and drag the items onto the appropriate slots to equip.
  • When looking for peasants to train into militia, first check the harbor, as they stand around for a bit after getting off the boat. After that, take a look outside all your cottages (building all your cottages close together helps with this).
