"Release the book from the Dwemer contraption" is an objective in the main quest "The Path of Knowledge" in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dragonborn.
Walkthrough[edit]
When the ramp drops down, you will find a Dwarven Centurion waiting.
You need to defeat the Centurion. It will come charging after you. Defeat it carefully. Search it and then turn to the East. Go to Neloth and talk with him.
Continue to the East and then go on up the ramp there. Head to the book room to the East. Stop on the ramp at the first landing.
Go to the North and up into this small room. There is a lever here that will lead you release the seal on the book. It is marked for you to find.
Return to the book's room. Go to the marked pedestal there and interact with it to raise the second Black Book out of the sealed area.
Wait for Neloth return to the Book room.
