When binding one object to another, the use of proper knots and tying techniques is paramount.
1. Tie a timber hitch several inches from the tip of the shaft.
2. Wrap the binding around the shaft at a high tension in a spiral until it sits just halfway below the tip.
3. Place the blade perpendicular to the shaft, halfway [ripped out] the hitch and the loop.
