The War Z

The War Z is an open world, survival horror themed MMO from Hammerpoint Interactive.

The title blends elements of FPS and TPS with its massive horror elements to create an action survival experience that allows players to game from either perspective.

Content Updates[edit]

The War Z receives regular free content updates from the development team. These will span both the game's public and private servers.

Business Model[edit]

The War Z, unlike many modern MMOs, is not available for free right off the bat. Instead, players must pay an initial fee of $14.99 through Steam to get access to the game. From there on out, however, the game is free to players.

The title eschews the Free-to-Play model that has become so popular as of late and does not charge for any of the in-game items or lock progress behind a monetary barrier.

All updates made to the game will be free as well.

Servers[edit]

The War Z's servers will support anywhere from 70 to 250 players simultaneously. Public servers will be available to anyone, but private servers are available for purchase as well.

Once purchased, a private server will give players the options to control max player counts, reserve player slots, and set up passwords.

Game Engine[edit]

The game runs on the Eclipse engine, which was developed by Arktos Entertainment.

Release[edit]

The War Z was released via Steam for PC on December 17th, 2012.
