These are some Beginner tips for new players in Fortnite Battle Royale.

- This game isn't about killing, its about surviving.
- If you drop into a populated area you have a chance of getting something good, but you also have a high chance of dying.
- Drop into an unpopulated area and you will have to run farther to get good guns, but be sure to do so fast before any other players can grab them.
- Avoid landing near other players.
- A twinkling sound means there is a chest nearby.
- There are a lot of chests in this game and a lot of them have decent loot.
- Chests drop a guaranteed weapon (of random rarity), ammo for it and a random consumable (bandages, med kit, shield, slurp juice, the bush) or grenades.
- Be sure to loot all chests in the area as some may have very good items.
- There are 5 tiers of weapons in this game:
- Common (Gray)
- Uncommon (Green)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
- Legendary (Orange)
- Legendary items are EXTREMELY rare and very hard to come by.
- Rocket Launchers are pretty rare to find, including ammo for them, but are very powerful.
- There are three types of healing items: Bandage, Medkit and Slurp juice.
- There are also shield potions that add to your health.
- Shield potions will dramatically increase your survival.
- Slurp juice is another type of potion which will gradually increase your health and shields by 25.
- Bandages can only heal you up to 75 hp.
- Slurp Juice can heal you to 100 hp, so it is best to use it after healing with bandages if you don't have a MedKit.
- Don't rush into rooms, be sure to peek around corners before entering a room.
- Pay attention to both visual and sound cues.
- Prioritize Assault and Sniper Rifles, but don't forget about a Shotgun even till the end of the game.
- Don't get forced in by the Circle, plan in advance.
- Build ramps to access new areas.
- After killing someone don't loot immediately, first check that there is noone else around who may kill you while you are looting.
- All weapons except sniper rifles, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers are "hitscan" weapons. The visualization of their bullets is superficial except to allow players to note where the shots are coming from. "hitscan" weapons do not require you to lead your shots, and you can aim directly at your target no matter the distance.
- Walking over ammo, building materials and traps will automatically pick them up. Use this to clear up the clutter for when you are looting player's bodies.
- Always use the shield potion right away! You never know when you will encounter an enemy.
- Beware of the traps! There are three types of traps that can harm you. There can be either on the wall, floor or ceiling. Enter every building with extreme caution, as they are silent after they are placed. As of a recent patch, they are all spike traps now.
- Remember to collect resources. Wood is fastest to farm, but the weakest, brick is medium, metal is the hardest. You will die without resources in this game. (I strongly recommend having a seperate bind keys for walls and ramps)
- Always build up. Never shoot without some kind of cover. If there isn't any - make one.
- Try to learn how to build, loot and correct you're inventory the fastest way possible. But apart from that haste isn't always adviced.
- Be like Obi Wan Kenobi - higher ground is ALWAYS an advantage.
- Remember you can destroy pretty much anything in this game. Someone is camping in the building? Bring down the walls!
- Be aware of the storm. The first two circles deal small damage, but are fast. From the third one up it hits harder, but you can outrun it!
