The Vault Hunter needs to go and defeat the Fire Spiderant Scorch. Head to the Southwest from the Incinerator Camp and up the slope nearby the Fast Travel Station and get over to Frozen Ant Lake. Look to the right to find Scorch.
Get behind Scorch and blast its thorax. This will make it a lot easier to inflict heavy damage. Be sure to not use a Fire Weapon as its damage is greatly reduced. Anything else will work. Explosive has the advantage of splash damage and will always do damage, even if its hits Scorch's head and would otherwise get deflected.
Kill Scorch and then return to Incinerator Clayton to complete the quest.
