A vehicle in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger.

The stagecoach was commonly used in the old west to transport multiple passengers, or large cargo loads.

How a Stagecoach Works[edit]

The stagecoach is a large coach car, supported by four tall wheels and pulled by two horses lashed to the front of the coach with leather or rope.

A driver sits in the front of the coach with the reigns in hand, controlling the speed by spurring the horses on with the reigns.

There are cargo spots on both the front and the top of the coach, allowing it to carry large loads with ease.

Stagecoach Attacks[edit]

The stagecoach attack or ambush has become a fairly popular depiction in films and video games that take place during the wild west time period.

Because of their large hauls, stagecoaches often found themselves the targets of attack when bandits or looters passed by.
