Find Narfi. Talk with him and ask him "What's wrong with you?" He will explain some of how he got to say goodbye to his parents, but not his missing sister Reyda. He will mention the local innkeeper, Wilhelm, who told him that she had gone missing and might return some day.

Head into the Vilemyr Inn and talk to Wilhelm about Narfi. He will explain that he is almost certain that Narfi's sister died while she was looking for alchemy ingredients. He will direct the Dragonborn toward a small island in the river to the east of Ivarstead.

Instead, head for the Southern bridge leading into Ivarstead. You will want to search the waters on the Eastern side of the bridge. There you will find a skeleton with a small satchel: Reyda's Remains. Investigate the satchel.

Inside the satchel you will find a number of Ingredients along with Reyda's Necklace. This necklace is needed for the next step of the quest.

Head back to Narfi and talk with him. You can either tell him the truth (and give him the necklace) or lie to him. Either way, you will get the reward.
