This is a non-journal (hidden) quest available only while the Hero is in the Pale Pass.

Getting Started

You will want to head along the trail inside the Pale Pass most of the way to the Fort. The path deviates once you get closer to the Fort itself. When you get to the flat part of the trail, with a frozen pond off to the right, you will want to head over toward the pond.

The Frozen Barrel

On the pond, head for the Northern end of it. You’ll see the remains of a wall with a divot into the wall. Sitting in there you will find a Frozen Barrel. Go and open the barrel to claim the Crumpled Note and the Rusty Key from it.

If you read the Crumpled Note, you’ll get the context for the puzzle of this quest. Otherwise, the important thing to take is the Rusty Key.

The Rusty Chest

Turn to the West from the Frozen Barrel. You will want to head perpendicular to the trail leading into the fort for the moment. Go past the entrance to the fort and head for the ruins just to the West of it.

Head into the ruins and look for the slope within.

Inside the ruins, next to the Slope, you will find the Rusty Chest. Open it on up to find the Old Key. Claim this key to move to the next step of your explorations.

The Old Chest

Turn to the trail that led you to the Fort. This time, you are going to want to follow it back toward the entrance a ways. Go past the statues, and up to the nearby crest. Get to the corner and look to the Rocks just to the East of the trail. Jump over the rocks directly next to the trail.

The chest you are looking for is sitting just behind this larger rock immediately next to the trail. The chest sits in a small nook between the two rocks nearest the road. Open it and claim the Forgotten Key within.

The Forgotten Chest

The final chest is all you need to get to now. Unfortunately, it’s a ways from here. You will need to head on back toward the entrance of the Pale Pass. Head to the Southwest and then follow the trail back to the entrance of Serpent’s Trail. Once you get back there, you will want to head to the West of the door. Turn and head up the slope to the South once its more clear of rocks.

As you go up the slope, you will see a few rocks, with a larger bush to the left of it, and a tree sticking up. Head toward the tree as you make your way up the hillside. At the top, just head for the rocks to the right of the tree. You will easily find the last chest: the Forgotten Chest. Open it up to claim your reward: the Circlet of Omnipotence.
