Oblivion Remastered: Azani Blackheart Guide

Track down Azani Blackheart with Modryn Oreyn in this Fighters Guild quest. Explore Arpenia and Atatar, to find the "dead" target.

This is part of the Fighters Guild Quest Line. This quest is available after you complete "More Unfinished Business."

Blackwood Company

Start by going to meet Modryn Oreyn in his house. You just need to go to his house while he’s there. You can head there after sundown or another time while he's there.

Make your way back to Modryn Oreyn’s House. Just head inside after that. Talk with Modryn Oreyn to learn more about what’s happening with Blackwood Company.

Modryn Oreyn is concerned about Blackwood Company. They’ll take any contract and do anything to get it down. You can get more details by asking about both “Blackwood Company” and “Azani Blackheart.” Agree and take on the quest.

Arpenia

It’s time to head for Leyawiin, your starting point to reach the Ayleid Ruins. Go inside the Leyawiin Fighter’s Guild to talk with Modryn Oreyn again. Talking with him, he’ll ask you to head out to Arpenia.

Leave Leyawiin and go to the North, going across the river and follow the road. Inside Arpenia, it’s time to get to work to clearing the Ruins.

You will find nuisance animals just inside. Go forward down the hallway and take the first left. Take the stairs down into the first room. You’ll have Modryn Oreyn helping throughout the area. Go to the Northeast to get into the next chamber of the Ruins.

This one has a chest sitting on a pitted section the floor. There are holes that imply a trap, but there isn’t one there. If you look past the chest and its pit, you’ll see a faint square in the floor ahead of you. That is where a piston trap is. Trigger that and you are rocked into spikes on the ceiling.

At any point around now, take a little time to talk with Modryn Oreyn. He’ll remark that there’s no body for Azani Blackheart. Modryn Oreyn knows another nearby Ayleid Ruin that could work.

Atatar

It’s time to travel to this second Ayleid Ruins: Atatar. Once back outside Arpenia, you will want to follow Modryn Oreyn. Once you are by it, just head for the ruins themselves. You will find a spiral staircase leading down into them.

When you are inside, you can talk with Modryn Oreyn. Take the stairs down and around the staircase. Head through the hallway beyond the staircase, where you will see a pile of dead rats. Watch carefully to see swinging blades. Evade the blades and get to the room beyond.

Go into the middle path when you reach the fork in the road. You can encounter a Bandit just inside it. There are more on the far Southwestern side of the room. Just head down the hallway after that to reach the door leading to Atatar Haelia Dagon.

Inside this second portion of the Ayleid Ruins, you can encounter a patrolling Bandit. Be sure to head into the small chamber just in front of you. Sitting in there you can find a Locked Chest (Average). Continue to the Southwest after that. There are a few more Bandits in the area.

Head to the Southeastern portion of the area. In this narrow area, you can find a corridor. Sitting beyond an open door you can find a switch on the wall. Interact with it to open the nearby Gate. Head through the door that you opened. Go down the corridor you’ve just gotten access to.

Go to the end of the corridor and turn to the right. You’ll see a pillared walkway with a door at the far end of it. There is another door over to the right in the pit underneath the walkway.

Atatar Haelia Anga

Go through the door into this next area. If you entered through the lower area, you will need to head to the Southwest. You’ll find a door with a few nuisance animals around it.

Take the first opening to drop down to the room below by jumping over the railing. Either path easily leads you to a room with a pair of bandits (or some equivalent). You can just head to the Northeast in this small room. This gives access to the door that leads to Atatar Loria.

This is the final area for you to explore. And it’s the important one because you can find Azani Blackheart wating in here for the Hero and Modryn Oreyn.

Confront Azani Blackheart

Azani Blackheart will immediately attack the Hero and Modryn Oreyn. They will use their sword Sinweaver to attack. Blackheart can summon in Undead to attack the pair.

Be sure that you take the time to grab the Sinweaver. Then take a moment to go over to the body of Blackheart. Claim Blackheart’s Ring to be sure that you’ve gotten everything.

After the fight, talk with Modryn Oreyn. You can get an advancement in your Fighters Guild Rank.

You can now take a little time to explore the rest of the level. You can find a bedroom as well as a lower level that’s somewhat flooded with a number of rodents.
