Complete Crossing the Cold Pool in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom by collecting 10 Chillshrooms in Talonto Peak Cave. Help Verla cross the freezing water and earn a Purple Rupee worth 50 Rupees.

Summary

Talk with Verla outside of Talonto Peak Cave. He will ask Link to collect 10 Chillshrooms from within because he can’t get across with an injured wing. Hand over any 10 Chillshrooms to Verla to be awarded a Purple Rupee.

“Verla came to Talonto Peak Cave to collect 10 chillshroooms, only to find that cold water had accumulated inside.

With his wing still injured from a fight with monsters, Verla has not way across the pool.”

Walkthrough

Talk to Verla

Make your way to the entrance of Talonto Peak Cave. you will find Verla there. Approach and talk with her. He explains that there are Chillshrooms that he wanted to collect for food.

If you have 10 Chillshrooms on hand, you can simply hand those over to complete the quest.

Collect 10 Chillshrooms

If you need to collect the Chillshrooms, just head into the nearby cave: Talonto Peak Cave. Before going in, look around the edge of the pool to find a few Chillshrooms.

Link emerging from the freezing water, taking damage

Inside the Cave, you can find a few Chillshrooms on the entrance side of the Cave. After that, you need to get across the large pool. This pool is full of freezing water which does 1 heart of damage per second you are in it.

Either you can build a boat or bridge using the materials found outside the Cave or you can climb up the wall, jump off and glide across.

Going down into the chamber with all the Chillshrooms

Getting to the far side, you can find a few Chillshrooms by the water. After that, you need to head down the slope into the large chamber at the end. There, you will find a lot of Chillshrooms. Circle around the chamber to easily find all 10 (and then some) Chillshrooms.

Give the Chillshrooms to Verla

Make your way back out of the cave. You need to get back across the freezing pond. You can either climb up and glide across, or using the raft by this side with a Zonai Fan, or using the bridge that you made to get back across the pond.

Exiting the Cave and turning in the Chillshrooms

On the far side, go and talk with Verla. Hand over the 10 Chillshrooms that you collected inside the Talonto Peak Cave. He will happily reward Link with a Purple Rupee.
