"Keep up with the Montgolfiere" is an optional mission objective in Sequence 9 / Memory 03: The Escape
Walkthrough[edit]
Head over to the Southeastern corner of the courtyard. You will find a Lift there. Run on toward it to get launched up to the rooftops. Head to the Northeast after that to start chasing after the hot air balloon with Elise inside it. Run along the rooftop. Both bonus objectives are now active.
Once on the rooftops, start over to the West. The first jump between buildings is fairly easy. Just keep up with Elise and you should have little trouble making it.
The second one, you will need to use the rope shown. Quickly climb up the wall noted. There is a Sniper at the top of it. Take them out and start turning toward the Northwest. This makes for another simple jump to keep up with the balloon. Rush on through or over the building and deal with the next Sniper that gets in your way. Just about now the balloon will start drifting to the Northwest. Keep up with it.
There are a number of Snipers that you will need to deal with during this portion. Just take them out with running assassinations as you follow the balloon. After the chain of snipers, just run over the rope below. Take a moment to wait. The balloon is about to get caught on a steeple.
The hot air balloon is now caught on the steeple of a nearby church. Head to the South to hop onto the rope leading over to the church. Climb up to the top of the church and interact with the rope. Arno will cut it loose. Be mindful as a cutscene will run after Arno slices through the rope.
Rush forward and use the lift in front of you to get back on the rooftops. This will not count against the Don't touch the ground challenge. Just keep pace as the balloon moves away. Head to the South.
Once again you need to look for open windows leading through buildings or the ropes between them. This will make sure that you keep to the heights of the building and stay with the balloon.
