I've taken the book Summoning Rituals of the Arch-Mage and cast it into the flames of an Arcane Brazier. This given me a book I can read but not understand.

Walkthrough[edit]
Head back over to Valaste. Talk with her to review the near gibberish text that is present in the book. SHe will explain that she doesn't understand much more herself. She will however notice one bit that she does understand. She reasons out an attunement spell. With this, she will lead you in summoning Arch-Mage Shalidor.

What has the fire revealed? ===I can't understand the words here. They must be very complex spells. Complex indeed. Much of this is beyond my understanding, but ... here. This one is an attunement spell.
We can summon Arch-Mage Shalidor himself! We'll need some ritual orbs...
What do these orbs do?[edit]
They'll focus your Magicka, attune your life energies, and draw him to this place.
The ritual will also apparently link your mind with his.
What does that mean?[edit]
It means the arch-mage will be able to guide you, and speak to you whenever he chooses.
