Walkthrough

• Cloud comes to in Classified Research - The Drum, below where the party was and needs to find his way back to them.
• Head forward and over to the right, where you can see the fans in the wall.
• Interact with the switch in the nearby wall to extend test subject pods from the wall that Cloud can use to cross the gap.
• Run across the next platform and take the far stairs downward.
• Follow the path in front of you as it twists downward into the subject pods, leading to the wiring and mako pipes below.
• Eventually, Cloud will encounter 2 Monodrives.
• Defeat them and continue past the pipe leaking Mako energy.
• Get back onto the nearby walkway and follow it until you see a dip in it.
• Go into this area and over to the right, following the shattered path to find a Poison Materia.
• Return to the left and continue along the outside of the level.
• Have Cloud under the rise in the piping and go forward to collapsed section of this area, where Red XIII will join Cloud for a time.
• The pair will need to take on 2 Unknown Entities.
• Defeating them will clear the way to begin climbing upwards.
• Run up the nearby pipe and hop the small gap then head over to the left.
• From there, go on up the stairs to reach the top platform.
• Here, you will get a new mechanic, allowing Cloud to ask Red XIII to hop across the retracted subject pods, which will then extend.
• Before going over to him, head away and across the subject pods already extended.
• On this landing, go over to the left and open the chest which has a Phoenix Down.
• Head back across the pods, then go across the newly extended pods.
• On the far side of the pods, head over to the right into the break room to find a The Drum Vending Machine next to a bench.
• From there, go into the nearby hallway and head through there to reach The Drum - 1st Ward.
• Go on up the stairs to reach the main part of the ward.
