Week 1

Dare the Leviathan

Venture into the depths of the Leviathan in search of answers to Emperor Calus's return

Complete Nightmare Containment

In order to perform the ritual to sever Calus's connection to the lunar Pyramid, Eris has sent you on a mission to harvest the essence of Nightmares on the Leviathan and beyond. Destroy these creatures and container their power for her spell

  • Complete 8 tiers of the Nightmare Containment public event on the Leviathan and bind your Vestiges of Dread to the Nightmare Harvester after completing the final tier to create a Bound Presence.
  • Each additional time you bind after completing the final tier has a chance to rewards a Bound Presence.

Sever - Shame

With the proper reagents prepared, Eris is ready to perform the ritual of severance to break Calus's connection to the Lunar Pyramid. Journey into the Leviathan's Underbelly with Crow and defeat the Nightmares that await you there.

  • Team up with Crow to perform a ritual of severance aboard the Derelict Leviathan
  • travel to the Levaithan and start the Sever activity
  • Complete the activity, claiming your rewards

Check In

Unable to overcover the same of his past life, Crow has suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Nightmare of Uldren Sov. Find Crow in the HELM and check in on him.

  • Check in with Crow in the HELM
  • Crow Visited
  • travel to the HELM and then loop around toward the very back of the HELM
  • Go down the stairs and over tot he back door, where the Psion was.
  • Just approach Crow and talk with him.

Visit the Crown of Sorrow

Following Crow's defeat during the ritual of severance, it is clear that severing Calus's connection to the lunar Pyramid will be harder than expected. It's time to return to the Crown of Sorrow and formulate a plan.

  • Return to the Crown of Sorrow and debrief with Eris.
  • Crown Visited
  • After that talk with Crow, make your way over to the Crown of Sorrow with HELM.
  • Approach and interact with it to hear from Eris Morn about what the next steps are going to look like.

Week 2

Visit Eris

Eris has returned from seculsion with new information gained through further research of the Nightmares. It is time to return to the Crown of Sorrow and plan the next step.

  • Use the Directory to travel to the HELM, between Earth and the Moon.
  • Go to the Crown of Sorrow and interact with it to get the next step.

Binding Nightmares

Eris is ready for you to return to the Leviathan to confront the powerful Nightmares in the Castellum. Defeat the Nightmares and contain them in the Crown of Sorrow, paving the way to begin the next ritual of Severance.

  • Eris has instructions for you to contain more Nightmares, collecting another Bound Presence.
  • Once is guaranteed when you complete your first Tier 3 Nightmare Containment each week with the right Upgrades to the Crown of Sorrow.
  • Each Tier completion grants ~33% progress toward the overall completion.

Severance - Reconciliation

It's now or never. With counsel from you and Eris, Crow believes he is ready to confront the Nightmare of Uldren Sov and sever Calus's connection to the Lunar Pyramid.

Speak to Crow

Success! Thanks to your efforts, Crow was able to confront and turn the Nightmare of Uldren Sov into something new and remarkable. You should return to the HELM and discuss your shared victory.

  • Return to the HELM.
  • Once there, go find Crow in his usual spot.
  • Talk with him.

Return to the Crown

With the Nightmare of Uldren Sov transformed into a new kind of force, a victory of sorts, is at hand. Eris must have additional insights into what happened during the ritual.

    • Speak to Eris at the Crown of Sorrow in the HELM.
  • Talk with Eris Morn through the Crown of Sorrows with HELM.
  • She will remark on the transformed Nightmare of Uldren Sov into something different, new.
  • Continue to work on Binding Nightmares, there is a lot of work left to be done.

Return to the Crown

With the victory of Crow's severance ritual at your back, Eris has returned with a bounty of information interpretation to the new state of being created in the ritual. She waits to debrief at the Crown of Sorrow in the HELM.

Gather Vestiges of Dread

In order to perform another attempt at the ritual of severance Eris requires more essence of Nightmares to be contained in the Crown of Sorrow. Venture across the Leviathan beyond to fight and defeat Nightmares to fuel the ritual.

Nightmare Containment

Eris is ready for you to return to the Leviathan to confront the powerful Nightmares in the Castellum. Defeat the Nightmares and contain in the Crown of Sorrow, paving the way to being the next ritual of Severance.

Sever: Grief

Zavala is eager to get this ritual of severance over with. He refused to talk about his experiences with his Nightmare, and wants to put this all behind him. Confident that you will succeed, he await the trip to the Underbelly of the Leviathan to bring this all to a close.

  • Travel to the Underbelly of the Leviathan with Zavala to perform the ritual of Severance.
  • Complete: Sever - Grief

Check in on Zavala

Zavala was unprepared fro the emotional challenge of confronting his Nightmare. He withdrew to the Tower on Earth following the failed ritual and has refused to speak to anyone about what happened. Perhaps you'll have better luck.

  • Travel to the Tower and check in on Commander Zavala
  • Head to the Tower and travel to the Plaza.
  • Go visit Commander Zavala in his usual spot.
  • He only has a little to say before clamming up again.

Debrief with Eris

Zavala refused to discuss the details surround the Nightmare haunting him. Eris may hold the ky to the truth needed in order to help Zavala through his pain and complete the ritual.

  • Speak to Eris in the HELM about the Nightmare of Safiyah.

Visit the Crown of Sorrow

With the recent failure, Eris wants to re-evalutate the Vanguard's approach to the ritual Join her at the Crown of Sorrow in the Helm for a debriefing.

  • Claim your rewards after that.

In spite of Zavala's difficulty in facing the nightmare of his past, Eris has faith that he will be able to pull through. She has devised a plan of attack for the next ritual and wishes to speak to you in the HELM

  • This quest step begins at 6/14/2022 at 10am Pacific Time
  • Travel to the HELM and make your way to the Crown of Sorrow
  • Zavala is ready to try again, and Eris bids you to return to the Derelict Leviathan

Return to the Leviathan

Eris is ready for you to return to the Leviathan to confront powerful Nightmares in the Castellum. Defeat the Nightmares and contain them in the Crown of Sorrow, paving the weapon to being the next ritual of Severance.

  • Complete Tiers of the Nightmare Containment public event within the Derelict Leviathan and bind your Vestiges of Dread at the Nightmare Harvester after completing the final tier to create a Destiny 2: Bound Presence.
  • Each additional time you bind after completing the final tier has a chance to reward a Bound Presence.
  • Successfully Complete 3 Tiers of the Nightmare Containment or 6 if all are unsuccessful.
  • Collecting a Fireteam for this part is recommended, since it will help guarantee an easy completion of the Public Event.
  • Any time you have a Bound Presence, it will be reflected on the quest screen.

Sever - Forgiveness

Zavala is ready to face the Nightmare of Safiyah. Armed with the knowledge of his past and the burden of memory he carries, you too, are wel-armed to support him in this confrontation, deep within the Leviathan's Underbelly.

    • Complete Sever - Forgiveness
  • Be sure to search for the Calus Frame and the Bobblehead that are here.
  • The Calus Frame is found in the room with the Scorn, just before you climb up to meet Zavala.
  • Search the right hand side of the chambers to find it off to the side.

The Calus Bobblehead is found shortly after planting the second Amplifier.

  • Head into the ventilation tube and go over to the right.
  • When you reach the first platform past the pipes, slow down.
  • Sitting on the back pipe is the Bobblehead.

Listen to Zavala's Message

The ritual of severance was arduous, but successful. Zavala is ready to speak to you about what transpired and has left a pre-recorded message for you in the HELM

    • A transmission from Commander Zavala awaits you in the Helm.
  • Holoprojector Visited
  • In the helm, head to the Holoprojector just inside the area with the Crown of Sorrow.
  • Go to the projection device just inside the area overlooking the Crown itself.

Debrief with Eris

With another Nightmare converted into a Memory, Eris is confident that a path to success is at hand. But there are lingering doubts about the nature of Calus's goals that haunt her. Debrief with Eris in the HELM.

    • Speak to Eris at the Crown of Sorrow in the HELM
  • Continue on from the Holoprojector to the Crown of Sorrow itself and interact with it.
  • Eris has a little more to say before the mission it concluded for the week.
