Scaffolding is typically used to climb various structures in Far Cry 3.

The scaffolding winds around the game's Radio Towers, connecting to stairways and wooden planks to form a path to the top, where the player can reactivate the tower and expand their in-game map.
Scaffolding will also occasionally provide players a path to climb up various buildings in Rakyat or pirate villages. Typically, these buildings are inaccessible from the front and have Relics or Letters of the Lost hidden inside of them. The scaffolding is the only way to get inside.
