Roblox Adds Direct Robux Transfers in Major Gifting Update
Roblox has introduced direct Robux transfers, giving eligible players a new way to send Robux to others without using old workarounds. The feature comes with Roblox Plus requirements, age checks, parental approvals, and safety limits.
The long-requested ability to send Robux to another player is now live, but Roblox is wrapping the feature in subscription, age-check and parental-approval rules.
Roblox players now have a more direct way to send Robux to friends, family members and other users, ending years of awkward workarounds involving game passes, group payouts or gift cards. The new Robux transfer feature arrives as part of Roblox Plus, the company’s new subscription plan, and allows eligible users to send Robux directly to another account with no transaction fee. Roblox says the feature is meant to make everyday use of the platform more convenient while keeping tighter controls around payments and younger users.
What the New Robux Transfer Feature Does
The feature lets Roblox Plus subscribers send Robux directly to another user. The recipient does not need to subscribe to Roblox Plus, but both sides must meet Roblox’s safety and age requirements before the transfer can be completed. Roblox says this is the first time it is introducing direct Robux transfers with no transaction fees as a platform benefit.
Roblox Plus launched globally on April 30, 2026, at $4.99 per month in the U.S. It includes other benefits such as discounts on in-game and avatar purchases, free private servers in supported experiences and marketplace-related perks. In Roblox’s announcement, Chief Business Officer Enrico D’Angelo said the plan is intended to give users more value while continuing to support creators.
How to Send Robux to Another Player
To use the direct transfer feature, players should follow these steps:
- Make sure the sender has Roblox Plus. Only Roblox Plus subscribers can send Robux directly. The recipient does not need Roblox Plus.
- Complete the required age setup. Users 18 and older must complete Roblox’s Age Check. Users under 18 need a linked parent account, and parent or caregiver approval is required each time they send or receive Robux.
- Go to the recipient’s profile or the Buy Robux page. Roblox says transfers can be started from either the other player’s profile or the Buy Robux page.
- Choose the Robux transfer option. If the feature is available on the account, select the option to send or transfer Robux.
- Enter the amount. Select or type in the amount of Robux to send, then select Next.
- Review the transfer carefully. Roblox warns that transfers are final and cannot be reversed. Players should confirm the username, amount and recipient before continuing.
- Select Send. Once confirmed, the transfer is submitted.
- Wait for approval if required. For users under 18, a prompt will ask the linked parent account to review the transfer. If the parent approves it, the Robux is sent. If the parent rejects it, the transfer is canceled.

Recipients also have to accept the transfer. If the recipient is under 18, a parent account must approve the incoming transfer as well. If requirements are not completed within seven days, Roblox says the transfer is canceled and the Robux is returned to the sender.
Limits, Fees and Safety Rules
The biggest limit is the monthly cap. Roblox says users can send up to 1,000 Robux per month, though that limit is subject to change. Transfers are free of platform fees for Roblox Plus subscribers, but they are also final, meaning players cannot cancel or reverse a transfer after sending it.
Roblox also warns players to send Robux only to people they know and to be cautious of scams. The company specifically says Roblox will never ask users to send Robux to another player to verify an account or for any other official purpose. Transferred Robux also cannot be converted into real money through the Developer Exchange program, so recipients can only spend it inside Roblox.
Roblox’s Bigger Safety Push
The Robux transfer feature is launching during a much broader overhaul of Roblox’s safety and communication systems. One of the largest changes is the new age-based chat system. Roblox now requires users who want to use chat features to complete an age check. Once checked, users are grouped into age bands, such as under 9, 9-12, 13-15, 16-17, 18-20 and 21+. Players can generally chat only with users in their own or similar age groups, unless they are approved Trusted Friends.
Roblox has also expanded Trusted Friends, a system meant to let real-life family members and close friends communicate across age groups under stricter rules. The company says connected parents will automatically become a child’s Trusted Friend, and Roblox is adding ways for siblings, cousins and close friends to connect safely even when they fall into different age groups.
Other recent safety updates include expanded parental controls, more visibility into what games children are playing, tools to manage chat, screen time and spending limits, and new age-based account types for younger users. Roblox has also introduced chat improvements such as real-time warnings and AI-assisted rephrasing of profanity, designed to reduce disruptive filtered messages while still enforcing platform rules.
Why Roblox Is Making These Changes
Roblox’s changes come as the platform faces increasing pressure to prove it can protect younger users while still supporting a massive social gaming community. The company has repeatedly framed its recent updates around age-appropriate communication, stronger parental oversight and safer ways for players to interact. Outside observers have also noted that Roblox is facing lawsuits, regulatory attention and broader scrutiny over child safety on online platforms.
The new Robux transfer feature fits into that strategy. It gives players a cleaner way to send Robux, but Roblox is clearly trying to avoid turning transfers into an uncontrolled channel for scams, pressure or adult-minor interaction. By tying sending to Roblox Plus, age checks, parent approvals and monthly limits, the company is treating Robux transfers less like a casual gift button and more like a guarded financial feature.
What It Signals for Roblox
Direct Robux transfers are likely to be popular with players, especially families managing multiple accounts and friends who want to share Robux without complicated workarounds. But the feature also shows where Roblox is headed: more convenience for engaged users, more subscription-based perks and much tighter identity and safety controls around communication and spending.
For Roblox, the challenge is balancing freedom and protection. The platform wants to make it easier for players to connect, create and spend, but the latest updates make clear that those features will increasingly come with age checks, parent tools and safety gates built in from the start.
