Oblivion Remastered: The Dark Brotherhood Guide
The Handprint emblem of the Dark Brotherhood

Summary

The Dark Brotherhood is the Assassin’s Guild. It’s illegal, of course, but unlike the Thieves Guild, there is no support to help you with fines and bounties. It offers a variety of simple and challenging quests to kill targets for the Night Mother. You get a lot of unique equipment, and unlock a chance to become a Vampire. You get a weekly quest at the end of the questline.

Avoiding Recruitment

The Dark Brotherhood contacts their potential initiates after they sleep. There are only a few ways to avoid this:

  • After receiving the initiation, just ignore it
  • Kill Lucian Lechance (which will let you drop the Blade of Woe too)
  • Sleep at the Inn of Ill Omens
